  1. This is great news! Why would be want to be a buffalo when he can be a Tiger? WDE young man, come to Auburn.
  2. IMO he was given more than a second chance. He was caught speeding again not long after the Bramlett's deaths while he was supposed to be on house arrest. Then he failed a random drug test while he was on probation. HOPEFULLY he gets put away for a very long time now that he's been tagged by the Fed's for child pornography. Federal prison will not be kind to a fresh young boy like him.
  3. I don't think Harsin's tenure at Auburn would hinge on him putting his QBs at risk of injury before the season even starts. He'll have all summer + pre-season practice + a few regular scrimmages and then 2 cupcakes in Mercer/San Jose St to see what he's got to work with.
  4. I agree and I hope we are better prepared than '12 when Chizik had to scramble around to find answers.
  5. Aren't players allowed to play in at least 4 games before they burn their redshirt?
  6. ^^This AND the 180 turn around effort by all AU beat writers & Auburn's P/R folks blowing up positive news in order to shine a glowing light on the program in the wake of the Fiasco of February. I've said it for months.... after February CBH opened up to people and he has allowed the media to have details of the staff's recruiting with tons of positivity coming out of the department. Someone at Auburn told him he had to open up more, that he had to appear to be 100% engaged and he had to "sell" himself and Auburn. It's been a night/day difference relative to the amount of news and information we previously saw from him.
  7. Those two can cherry pick whomever they want, they have the luxury of right of first refusal with carte blanc access to the top talent in the country. Auburn can't be choosy. With the transfer portal in place why not heavily pursue this kid, make him a top priority and get him to Auburn, if he doesn't work out tell him to hit the portal?
  8. It's worse than a problem this year. This is an unprecedented year for in-state talent, the State is loaded! Of the top 10 players in-state, 7 are 5*'s. Clemson, UGA, Florida, aTm have all been beating down the doors for these guys.
  9. Which means the AU brand has been getting great exposure. We'd love to see the hay stacked in the barn but it appears our staff are still bailing it right now.
  10. Just like it has been for Auburn for what seems like forever.....it's been ugly and it's an uphill battle and when UT/OU join the hill gets steeper.
  11. He committed to uga last night.
  12. CBH has to develop SEC level players now, he needs to be given time to prove this is something he and his staff can accomplish.
  13. Some HS coaches have had too much updyke $$ (untraceable ca$h) in their pockets, new pick-up trucks, massive donations to their HS Booster Clubs, huge facility upgrades and expansions with bids clearing from updyke businesses and favorable financing from updyke backed banks, etc. It just so happens the current crop of in-state talent is at an all time high and a ton of $$ has been thrown around in anticipation of this recruiting class.
  14. That's right! I forgot what the tidbits & talking points were relative to Caleb Williams coming to AU.
  15. Weren't the tidbits and talking points when Caleb Williams entered the portal so hot because our 3 week old OC hire (Austin Davis) was following Williams on instagram and Davis could relate to Williams so that gave Auburn a strong shot at landing the QB. I remember that talk on the recruiting board. lol
  16. Absolutely! Lead by example and bringing in our military men to teach these young men is a wonderful idea. Kudo's CBH
  17. Why does it bothers me when an innocent player gets tagged because a superstar NFL player had a "connection" to an AU coach. i.e. Scott "Lefty" Leoffler coached the GOAT >>> "Tom Brady"!!! 🤢
  18. Well, I always throw $100 on the o/u win total for Auburn, I've lost that $$ for years. I always think we'll do better than Vegas thinks. I'll ride with another over bet for $100 for this season and hope for the best.
  19. That's IT! IMO the hatred for Gus is not there, he was too good of a man and always represented Auburn well for folks to actually hate or despise him. For many years I had constant frustration with Gus, then the last 2-3 yrs of his tenure I was the worst fan imaginable because he made me become apathetic towards AU football.
  20. I'm glad you posted this to put things in perspective a little better. We also have to understand that teams that already inked a top 5/top 10 class AND added top portal players it enhances their ending rankings as well. I'd assume USC/Riley adding top QB & WR through the portal helped their end class ranking a ton - then by the same token, uat adding a couple of top portal players boosted their already great class ranking.
  21. This initiative should help recruiting. When top prospects see that Auburn has a players collective and word gets out of how much $$ comes in for everyone it'll draw attention.
  22. Amen! Sadly, Auburn has become a team with a bad habit of wilting in the second half & sometimes collapsing. I truly believe if given enough time CBH is on a mission to change those habits.
  23. Was the class not hovering around the 40's when Gus was fired? Then Harsin with tremendous help from Mason pulled it up to the 20's.
  24. It could be that our fan base cannot accept that terminology any longer because Auburn football is no longer a team that imposes their will on an opponent? Entirely too many times we struggle with the lesser SEC teams and even the cupcake teams we play. For many years Auburn was the undisputed RBU, but that fizzled out years ago. We were always a tough, hardnosed team in the trenches that consistently "brought it" for every game and the opponent knew they were going to have their hands full when they played us. Here's to getting back to that rough & tough type of play.
