  1. Yep - OleMiss was a dumpster fire with Freeze started there and a dumpster fire when he left. I'm hoping for a bowl game this year with our favorable schedule, not making one is unacceptable.
  2. Log a few years of freaking Birmingham Bowl's or no bowl at all and see where your fanbase goes. I don't care how much you love Auburn, it makes you want to puke. It doesn't take long to diminish a fanbase when the program goes through the worst time in program history and runs through 3 different coaching staffs in 3 years while our 2 main rivals bathe in the glow of national championship contention. This program needs stability and to start winning ball games, seriously competing for championships AND start funneling players into the pro's at a high clip. Then fan interest and fan $$ will crank back up to levels we've never seen before. Auburn has the best fans in the world, but they've been asked to be patient for far too long and they're just sick and tired of the Administration's shenanigans and the constant turmoil. Here's to Freeze & Cohen getting things on correct course very soon, Auburn Football's success depends on it now more than ever. 🍻
  3. The man knows how to evaluate talent, he knows how to develop talent, he knows how to manage a professional level college program. He also (very important) has a willingness to evolve his philosophy and schemes when necessary to give is team every advantage to be successful. The willingness to change has been the downfall of many a head coach, a few in our own conference over the last few years. Les Miles/Gus Malzhan and we'll see very soon if Jimbo Fisher falls in the pool with those guys OR if he'll let Bobby Petrino truly step and take over that stagnant offense this season. Stubbornness and unwillingness to admit the scheme that got you to SEC HC level may no longer work and a change is needed must be hard for some men. Jimbo's going through it now. What Saban has done is unprecedented in college football, whatever he's done in his college coaching career works at an elite level and it's something we may never see again. The new hot thing is Kirby Smart, but IMO Kirby has shown Saban a thing or two lately. Kirby has shown Saban that Saban's old way of coaching can still win championships and I look for Saban to veer away from the finesse style of offense and get back to strong run game offense with killer defenses. I'm looking forward to some interesting football this season from a lot of teams. Can't wait!
  4. Auburn has had a development AND retention problem for years. Acquiring 5* talent is one thing, retaining them, keeping them on the roster and developing them into NFL ready draftees is another.
  5. Some folks just need to decline interviews, period. I'm sure Finley's a great person with a solid work ethic and he gives 100%. Just steer clear of the mic.
  6. TJ's had someone in his ear for him to make public statements like that. "Slap in the face" when he came to Auburn under the same circumstances. Then spout out the predictability of the offensive scheme (and trash your oline in the aftermath) then to dissing the caliber of your opponents (Mercer/SJS) doesn't represent AU well.
  7. Over the last year plus, we've been led to believe (by Mods involved with AU NIL) that there's plenty of $$ and AU can compete with our main rivals for talent. It's been said Freeze has everything he needs to build his roster with backing from the big $$ boosters, some of whom were instrumental in his hiring. We now have a coaching staff that knows the territory, knows the conference and has support from the Administration and AU financial supporters. I don't intend to sound like an arse and I mean no disrespect, but please pardon me for rolling my eyes when "It all depends on how many and how much people are willing to giving" now appears to be some kind of obstacle for bringing in the top-rated talent players. After everything this fan base and program have endured over the last 4-5 yrs under multiple HC's + a dysfunctional administrative staff, AU finally has everyone pulling in the same direction.
  8. 🤑💲 Bags and bags and bags of unrestricted, unregulated MONEY with zero oversight. 💲💲 Someone please tell me why AU, under the current NIL/portal environment and now with a brand-new coaching staff that will outwork any other program, should have obstacles or roadblocks in building a new roster?
  9. OTV needs to make the NIL right for this guy. Stay home where your $$ goes further and be a star in front of your family & friends. Sounds like such an easy sell.
  10. Does OTV need to reallocate fund$ and raise the ante to make the QB position here more attractive?
  11. Is this more accurate? 6 OC's in 6 yrs? '18 Chip Lindsey/'19 Kenny Dilly/'20 Chad Morris/'21 Mike Bobo/'22 Eric Kiesau/'23 Philip Montgomery? Needless to say, it's been a revolving door at Auburn for quite a while.
  12. What are you talking about '50? We had a 12 yr NFL veteran coach at AU last year for WR's (Ike Hilliard) and folks on here praised him when he was brought in.
  13. Beat writers and todd tore this place up after AU announced Harsin would be retained. There was a massive effort to get positivity out to the public and it was like night 'n day difference in the quantity of recruiting info released by the writers. Writers were busy slapping lipstick on that pig last spring.
  14. All I'm trying to say is that players take it personally when they don't perform in certain areas of their sport. There's no way AU players don't have access to facilities either on campus or off to hone their skills, perhaps it's more of a time management issue and not a facility issue? There are +300 basketball teams, many are somehow able to shoot FT's at a much higher % than our players did this season with less elaborate facilities.
  15. IF AU's gym is occupied what's wrong with one of the AU rec centers, a local school, church gym, an outdoor court. Many programs shoot FT's very well and have nowhere close to our grand facilities. IMHO, FT shooting is a personal effort.
  16. At some point a player has to take his piss poor FT shooting personally and he has to make a choice to put in the time and effort to improve on his own. Coaches don't have the time to waste limited and valuable practice time having players working on FT's, the player should have the motivation & initiative to do that on his own. Frankly, if I were on a SEC scholly + a stipend + a handsome NIL package, I'd be embarrassed as hell if I sucked and couldn't do my part from the charity line.
  17. Draining 3's by several players now and "Killa Dilla Brandon Milla" hasn't scored a single point, lol. Mark Sears is showing out. 😪
  18. I've noticed over the years that refs in the tourney are much more conservative with their whistles than in regular season play. Hope for the best tonight. WDE!
  19. The atmosphere is good, I'm not a fan of fried food but I guess it's a must to soak up the alcohol after a day on the lake.
  20. YUP! What they're doing over there will make AU stronger, we now have to seriously Up our game. I think a few SEC teams are making a concerted effort to get better, Ole Miss hiring Chris Beard was a homerun hire. Vandy and Mizzou both got better with their recent hires.
  21. Well hell, Auburn fans can root against the bammers just as well as they can root against us. Right?
  22. 8 teams make the tourney (IMO Vandy deserved a spot) and the SEC is down this year folks.
  23. It's what they do. Character, morals or even an inclination of propriety is completely absent in that organization. They are bred to give the world the finger.
