  1. Or maybe a/m rolled in to the plains missing their top 3 olinemen, #1 wr, #1 rb and were down to their second or third string qb and things sort of appeared simplified. I tend to think their problem was they vame in w a prostyle offense and didnt have the right components to run more of a high school offense w rpo's and qb dashes / options
  2. I totally agree, there is little chance sanders or kiffin makes a jump during the season and nor should they be asked to. If Sanders is a tier 2 candidate then lord help us because we might just deserve every bit of the decade plus tennessee vol irrelevancy that is before us. With all do respect.
  3. lol Okay lets rephrase this Pretend theyre off the table, either auburn is not interested or they have said no or some other reason.. What then?
  4. My apologies, replace 'reality' w 'possibility'
  5. It is becoming an echo chamber in here -- it has been made manifestly evident who most everyones top 3 candidates are. Great, got it but now lets start exploring the very real reality that Sanders, Kiffin, Freeze are not interested for whatever reason. What then? Who then?
  6. The real fun begins when we go in to Tuscaloosa and come out w a win. I hope you're ready to see a wet bird fly at night.
  7. I have never heard anyone describe Jimbo's offense as "highschool type" It is a classic pro style offense that relies on a great tight end and oline for route trees to develop. His offense sucks this year but ive never heard anyone describe it as a bush league highschool ball type o.
  8. I liken Grimes to a Jim McElwain type coach give or take a little. Good coach, going to get you 8 wins and might even get you to a sec conference game if the stars align and theres something to be said for that because thats historically what auburn has been and will be -- a good, disciplined team w a few dashes of luck here and there to capture magic in a bottle and thats my expectation for this program by and large. That said, we have a unique opportunity to get sanders (maybe) and then you could push the expectation level up to shear domination mode.
  9. Schmedding is quite a story in an of itself, what he has done the past two games has been extremely impressive
  10. Guys, youre so in your emotions! What your eyes see w the players balling out is just your emotions. Youre going to get jeff grimes and youre going to love it, it is going to be on and popping on the plains in like five years! Couldnt help myself. This next hire better be big because we are in the throws of a tennessee death spiral and caddy has given us a taste of a reprieve if even for a brief moment, it is sort of like what I would expect from deion sanders in terms of energy and emotion minus the national attention.
  11. Anyone have a link to that? Takeo is one of my favorite players of all time.
  12. For a brief glimmer in time Carnell made Auburn hot again. Really interesting, never really seen this kind of thing from an interim at other programs tbh
  13. Caddy reminds me a lot of Pat Dye Isnt that the magic phrase?
  14. Grimes calling an amazing game tonight at home, great choice! 🤣
  15. No no the narrative right now is that if you want caddy you are just "being emotional". Let auburn social media's team milk this story for a few more weeks about "how dreams come true" before he is shown the door by an incoming experienced staff. Sarcasm aside, show me what assistants are willing to step in and coach alongside and I could easily get onboard depending on who they are.
  16. Every coach every team seems to have these games every year-- like georgia at missouri this year That said, auburns probably getting the standard 8 win special in Grimes if I was a betting man.
  17. I considered Lane immature circa the end of his time w Oakland. After his time at tennessee it was more that of a "weasel" and now, for me, it is more of just a "troll". That said, he would be a great coach for Auburn.
  18. Lord almighty i have a tough time understanding him sometimes but I find myself w a big grin and pure happiness for him when I listen to him speak.
  19. Exactly. Oregon has to be many orders of magnitude more appealing right now in terms of quality of life and ability to be a coaching success. They're bringing in top ten recruiting classes out there so obtaining talent isn't a huge concern either. It is one thing to leave for Miami in the ACC but an entirely different animal to enter the sec west at this current juncture. Id be shocked.
  20. I wouldnt think so either but this article says otherwise. Im not one to trust various media sources like this though and i highly doubt dillingham is an option whatsoever
  21. Did your uncle say anything when you told him that "deion sanders reminds you a lot of Pat Dye"?
  22. Kenny Dillingham 👎 and I actually liked Dilly as a coordinator but a coaching candidate? Hard pass.
  23. That is not going to happen at Auburn in the next 5 years. Not happening. Probably not happing in the next 55 years either.
  24. Wonder if one of those was TJ's parents, wasn't one of them vocally upset about not being kept in the coaching search loop?
  25. Leach had a longer than usual talk w Caddy there at midfield after the game, I'd love to know what he said.
