I didnt know what to expect other than that we had an extremely capable roster outside of widereceivers.. What I did know was that it was extremely important to have a solid year with a dynamic offense to spring board us in to the future. I did not expect to be 12 out of 14 in the sec recruiting wise which tells you a lot about about the future. This very well could be more of a Tennessee like death spiral and less like a Saban year one kind of thing.

Birmingham Bowl: Auburn vs Houston

We were never at the bottom? What the hell. Ready for a change, that's fine but we were definitely not at the bottom and teams definitely were on edge that we could beat them any given saturday save maybe georgia. -
That is very true, I agree with that. Having said that I am still thankful we parted ways w Bobo.

Good hire for Oklahoma
-
It's probably totally legit now that kiffin reupped with Ole miss

Rebuilding? It doesn't feel like we are building. I see where Arkansas just landed a wr from Oklahoma in the portal #1 receiver in the 2019 class. We could have used that. A win would go a long ways I suppose and I do agree Houston is a better option than the SMU or Texas tech alternatives challenging though it shall be.

Hell they basically beat Georgia last year in the bowl game but I'm skeptical too

Birmingham Bowl: Auburn vs Houston

They most frustrating thing is that Alabama and Georgia are not playing each other right off the bat so as to avoid an all sec Natty which appears to be a highly probable thing now. Ugh. We really need a W in this bowl game and I know nothing about Houston or SMU -
I'm looking at auburn vs Oregon.. We as a program recruited incredibly strong and right in line w Cristobal at oregon. Recruiting kids to come play for Saban is skewed.
-
They bested auburn by four rankings ahead of us in 2019 we bested then by four rankings ahead of them in 2020 fortunately we also beat them in a head to head match up. I do think statically it's essentially a wash and coaching wise I think we were better. Oh well, whatever.

Disenginous much? Better recruiting than anyone we have had? You can throw shade at coach Malzahn all you want but please stay in line w reality. Recruiting for auburn 2013 10th 14 6th 15 8th 16 9th 17 9th 18 12th Oregon(13th)

A Terrible Florida lost to em by 2.. A so-so Arkansas team by a touchdown at Bammer and a poor lsu team lost by 6 at bammer.. I don't think they view it as that impressive -
What is a "passing game coordinator"? Never heard of that.. Like .. Lsu had one coordinator for run plays and another for passing and someone above them both to call the plays?

They should just put us against ucf and make things interesting. Could care a less about Texas tech or smu -
I'm a big fan of a good tough stiff opening day opponent, it's frightening, it's tough but it's also all eyez on auburn. I've seen teams open up w weak azz opponents as "warm up" games for years now only to get blown out by a more worthy opponent the following week. I think this is because the team doesn't spend all off season soley preparing for the tougher opponent because most coaches are fixed in a cycle of week to week prepare for who you face first and so on.. That said.. You can get beat ala Georgia state who frankly did beat us if not for help from the refs at the end.
-
You aught to avoid al.com .. They're so slanted towards Bammer and trolling about Harsin and whether he is inoculated or not. But ditto.

Yep but then we didn't do much against Georgia so.. College ball is weird
-
Random folks on this board "omg we could have had kirby at auburn b b b but we wouldn't let em coach his bowl game" also folks.. "kirby is March richt 2.0" who knows.. I won't be rooting for the sec in the playoffs this year.. Two arch rivals, hope they get unexpectedly embarrassed

So it sounds like the consensus from most everyone in the thread is that yes, he'd be a tremendous hire and we all would welcome him warmly.
