the young man was recruited fiercely by the nation's top programs including caddilac at auburn, had a very brief stint behind a loaded front at Clemson and a lackluster run in a Dan mullen offense that few if any rb's shine plus was injured throughout the spring w a knee injury furthermore I haven't seen anything out in the aether that he was told to leave Florida, could be true could be message board rumor just saying, it's not out there from a cursory search like it is with kobe hudson (but that's a bit different of a case). I'd say it's a good pickup that I'd be excited about as a fan nonetheless maybe he is a total dud my overall point was that this idea that Malzahn would be sought after by auburn is ludicrious or that he would be interested is ludicrious.

it's probably more of a situation where they don't necessarily want him gone but they also don't have the confidence to put down stupid amounts of money whereas with other coaches like kiffin, fisher, Kelly and so forth it's more easily justifiable. people hate the boosters but often they do have an inside track on the overall trajectory of things. conspiratorially I think the plan since the coup attempt failed is to not pay any kind of substantial buyout and just sit back and weather the storm and hope Harsin can keep the program afloat enough to avoid Tennessee vol status and then go after a coach when the time is ripe.

even Jeremy pruitt went 8-5 year two won a bowl game and had an 11th ranked recruiting class. I'd like something very similar or damn close to it

I was wondering where this team would stack up. They were hands down unbelievable at rushing -- I was at Neyland stadium and I think we passed it like 5 times, didn't even have to. We straight steam rolled them on the ground and it was amazing. Absolutely an amazing story with this auburn squad especially given the year prior in which we basically lost every single game.

I don't see cristobal as a fit at auburn. I could see him having success at Miami and it is well established he can recruit very well however I don't think he is a very good of a coach, I do think he is overrated in terms of coaching acumen.Irrregardless I understand we disagree on that and it's not particularly a debate I want to get mired in, I'm just sharing my opinion of him and I certainly respect your view point.

Because they're basically one and the same except gus has better character and a more potent rushing attack however if you prefer better passing than freeze would be ones go to.. whatever hard pass on Cristobal for me but it was nice beating him and the Westcoast to open the season awhile back

I agree. personally, I'd much rather have gus than freeze (probably not a surprise to anyone) but they're essentially one in the same give or take a little more passing for one vs a little more rushing for the other and I'll always take the side of rushing at a university like auburn. Harsin could bring a nice balance of the two (passing vs rushing) but only time will tell.
