  1. CBarkley has $50M to burn and Tim Apple just attended the IB…$ shouldn’t be a problem.
  2. Exactly this. I don’t think it’s a good thing though. Auburn Broncos might not work in the SEC.
  3. + Bama might add some additional "portal firepower" to the team, Boutte, Tank, etc - might be a different Bama team next year...who knows.
  4. I read that Citizen didn't visit Auburn this weekend and that he might be Florida bound.
  5. Hard to tell…this is a young team and we do not have many scholarships available + we are late to the party (it basically started when Suni arrived). Now, Suni and Olivia will have to start recruiting the next generation. This is not easy because we only have two major elites while LSU and Florida have a lot more highly ranked & well-connected gymnasts. Most of the top SEC programs, Alabama, Florida, and LSU just keep signing 4-stars and 5-stars because of the long-lasting relationships with the top recruits. Florida is totally stacked and two or three 4-star and 5-star L10s haven’t signed with the Gators yet (e.g. 5-star Sophia Butler but her IG still says Florida Gator commit). Maybe we can pick up someone here depending on the scholarship situation. Other interesting names: 2022 4-star Arielle Ward attended camp at Auburn in the past 2023 4-star Lyden Saltness (committed) 4-star Julianne Huff (AL, followed by Auburn Gymnastics, not sure why this is the case because the AU account normally only follows AU gymnasts and committed gymnasts) - I think she is L10 now but previously competed at elite level (only AL based gymnast during this time period). 2024 unrated (potential 5-star) / Jr. Team USA member - Charlotte Booth (follows and regularly interacts with a number of Auburn Gymnasts via social media)
  6. Is Oregon Pulling Away in Recruitment of Darrius Clemons? NOV 17, 2021 https://www.si.com/college/oregon/recruiting/darrius-clemons-closing-in-on-decision Excerpt: Auburn "Auburn is great. My family’s from down South, got a lot of family down there," he said. "It was just great to get down and see what they have going down there. They have a new coaching staff and not a lot of receiver talent so it’s definitely a place I can come and compete for an early spot." In the midst of his first year at the helm of the program, Head Coach Bryan Harsin has brought in a lot of new faces to help build his team following Gus Malzahn's firing, but having a fresh staff could be a positive for the receiver. "It’s cool just knowing they’re making me a priority and that they want me to come and be the face of the program.” Oregon "Just a free weekend. It was a home game early in the day so I was like why not get down there?" he said of why he wanted to get out to Oregon. "I hadn’t been there for a game yet. I’m taking my official visit not next weekend but the weekend after.” […] "I talk to Coach B Mac [Bryan McClendon] almost every day. Coach [Mario] Cristobal a few times a week. - - - - - - "Now that my season’s over I’ll probably sit down, think about that type of stuff and figure it out," he said. "I was just focused on my team and giving it all to these guys. Now I’ll probably sit down with my parents, pray about it and probably come to a decision before signing day some time." "I think it’s probably pretty even between Auburn and Oregon, and then Penn State is kinda falling off a little bit, but they’re still recruiting me.”
  7. 🤔 “Auburn hasn’t won a football game since people decided to roll Toomers for the Braves winning the World Series”
  8. I think several 4-star recruits decommitted last week. Something going on in Oxford.
  9. However they all had recruiting going for them. If Harsin can recruit WC difference makers to Auburn then it should be all good. Interestingly, most Boise fans say that Harsin is a good recruiter but not a great developer of talent.
  10. It’s already happening. Many WC kids receiving offers from AU now (esp. 2024 but also 2023 class). Most of these WC recruits are located in CA, WA, and UT including a number of Pacific Islanders. Won’t be easy to recruit against USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Notre Dame, BYU, Utah, Oklahoma in these areas…
  11. I doubt facilities do much for you these days unless you have Oregon-level facilities…(and they are upgrading once again). It’s just a must-have but NIL is currently a difference maker. If you don’t have nice facilities it will hurt you but many schools have nice facilities nowadays. Bama of course, UGA just upgraded, Florida and TAMU also starting to build new facilities soon, etc. I think hiring Gus made sense at the time. Hiring Harsin was a decision made by the AD and had nothing to do with resources, etc.
  12. What would that mean for recruiting?
  13. I don’t think he would have to sit out…apparently NCAA passed a 1 time free transfer rule this spring. Can somebody confirm this?
  14. Some Auburn and Boise fans currently discussing Harsin on the Boise board. Some of the more interesting comments: Boise fans: “Harsin coached teams, lacked heart, Fire and discipline. This raised its ugly head several times during every season. I actually think he has an intelligent side for the X’s and O’s of football. I think he is set in his ways and he will not change. I also think he is a micromanager and that he had his favorite players that he chose and the team as a whole did not play inspired football for him” “How many times did we see Harsin teams jump out to big leads and look good, only to have to hold on for dear life, like the players forgot how to play the game to win? Different venue, same Harsin teams. Get a lead, look good, squander said lead, lose to a team you shouldn't. Then there was the obligatory "WTF was that" games, usually two per year...It was time to move on...” “Harsin's team will come out ready to play, showing everybody they have the talent to compete with anyone. Opposition makes an adjustment or two and then nothing. This is Bryan Harsin football. Week after week Wash / Rinse / Repeat.” ”Harsin won a lot of games here but struggled when facing a defense with a pulse. That on top of 1-2 games/loses made absolutely no sense.” “Hint: Coach Harsin is a most stubborn individual. You criticize his coaches on your board and he will keep them just to spite you.” “Thanks for the kind words! Back when you guys hired him, I remember telling another Auburn fan who came here that Harsin was very similar to Gus in terms of how frustrating his teams could be. It feels like every year, you can pencil in a couple losses that you have no business losing on paper.” “You can take a screenshot of this season for Auburn and save it because it will be the exact same every year until he leaves”
  15. Tigers close out GT Fall Invite with another solid day The Auburn men, ranked No. 20 coming in, finished second at the meet ahead of Florida State, Georgia Tech and Georgia. With 1154.5 points, they trailed only Florida (1557). On the women's side, the 15th-ranked Tigers took third place with 1054 points. Georgia scored 1254 points to win while Florida was second with 1215 points. https://auburntigers.com/news/2021/11/20/swimming-diving-tigers-close-out-gt-fall-invite-with-another-solid-day.aspx
  16. Yes it’s true. It’s VIP, not sure it’s allowed to share any details.

  18. So no need for a plane tracking thread then?
  19. I think we got out-recruited. Still hoping for a last minute change of heart. Connecticut is quite a distance from GA. UCONN insider: “UConn staff blew away SC and his family with an excellent pitch.. Was not expected by them. If he comes north to Storrs. Not convenient to the family.”
  20. College Gymnastics is really becoming a thing: Packed arenas in the SEC and PAC12, tons of Olympians/World Champions/Elites flocking to college. First time in history that the AA Olympic gold medalist competes in college. Schools such as Utah and LSU investing heavily in facilities, Clemson starting a new program from scratch.
