  1. Nice win! I saw Bo at the game during the first half. Yesterday, Jabari attended the Gymnastics PreviewMeet. Great to see all athletes supporting each other.
  2. I don’t think it’s available. They also didn’t stream LSU’s Preview Meet, yesterday.
  3. When? I listened to his interview and don’t remember him saying “transfer portal” at all. He generally talked about his future, etc but never mentioned the transfer portal.
  4. Anticipation Grows for Auburn Gymnastics Following Preview Meet By Harrison Tarr | 12/3/21 8:56pm https://www.eagleeyeauburn.com/article/2021/12/anticipation-grows-for-auburn-gymnastics-following-preview-meet AUBURN, ALABAMA (EETV) When the doors opened at Auburn Arena and of the Tiger gymnastics preview meet on Friday night, there was an energy in the air unlike any other level of anticipation many fans had experienced before. There were certainly elements of excitement similar to that of years past; however, this year’s preseason exhibition presented a unique opportunity for gymnastics: the chance to watch an Olympic champion take the floor in an Auburn leotard. Freshman Suni Lee’s introduction to Auburn arena was one Tiger fans will likely never forget and a moment that the newcomer will cherish for years to come. "It was amazing," Lee said. "I feel like the last time I felt a crowd like that was olympic trials. It felt amazing to have the crowd and have energy." 5. I just got back from the Preview Meet: Nice event & pretty good attendance Olivia Hollingworth injured her (ankle?) early on (beam?). She returned later on bars but was limited Aria Brusch was on fire. She really impressed all-around. Sophia Groth (4-star signee) was a little bit off tonight but its still pre-season and she is a Fr., so perfectly normal. Expectations are high. Gobourne and Drew Watson were pretty solid. Gobourne showed lots of energy and a great floor routine. Suni only performed on beam and bars (she might not do all-around early in the season & her floor routine is not ready yet) Suni is still rusty (fell off beam). That's quite normal since she couldn't practice much. Suni also needs to gel better with the team which is perfectly normal (elites always struggle to adjust in NCAA due to different culture & dynamics) Jabari Smith stole the show when he was leaving towards the end (lots of picture requests)
  6. Tim Cook could definitely help out with his own money. Apple doesn’t have to get involved at all. Tim Cook receives over 5 million shares of Apple stock worth $750 million https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/26/tim-cook-receives-apple-stock-worth-750-million.html
  7. We should heavily invest in Basketball with NIL now, future NBA superstars might stick around longer in NCAA (lots of growth potential, especially with urban & global markets since Basketball is generally popular internationally…Australia, China, Europe, South America). There is no real growth potential in Football (demographics are changing). We should also recruit more internationally in Basketball & Olympic sports (France, GB, Australia, etc). Globally, NBA is not as popular as it used to be and NCAA teams could increase market shares in the future. I read that Bruce requested more resources for facility upgrades - but it was turned down(?). Basketball is the future, that’s why Bama is now investing so heavily in Basketball + they cannot grow in FB anymore. Suni’s IG (1.5M) has more followers than Alabama Crimson Tide FB IG (1M). Football is still king but College Basketball has more longterm growth potential as mentioned (urban & global markets + significant demographic changes nationwide). Olympic sports is also a good PR machine in some cases and can reach markets that FB cannot reach (esp. women, global markets, etc). Suni is a global brand and has many Int. followers. UGA will soon sign the biggest swim talent in the world who is from South Africa (next Michael Phelps). This should be approached as a complementary strategy. (AU Gymnastics season tickets sold out faster than AU Basketball season tickets this year. ABC will broadcast regular season meets for the first time ever). We need to get into position for the next phase in NCAA’s evolution (next 10-15 yrs): Transfer portal -> NIL —> Full Streaming —>Global markets (Basketball) When College teams will start negotiating individual streaming deals with Amazon, Apple, YT & co, we might not even need SEC $ anymore and should consider an ACC move (Basketball & Duke, UNC, and Notre Dame could be more attractive).
  8. Nice win! I have tickets for the Yale game. How good is Yale this year?
  9. UGA with upset win over #18 Memphis
  10. Kentucky trying to flip Bobo (he seems interested)
  11. I doubt it. Bowen is committed to ND and he wants to stay close to family (he specifically mentioned his younger siblings). According to ND fans, he was already a silent ND commit when he visited us.
  12. Ranking looks right to me, Florida and Utah are stacked. Florida has Olympians and World Champions fighting for line-up spots. Ranks 10-13 are interchangeable. Auburn will be competitive, maybe produce some upsets but Florida, LSU, and Alabama are clearly top3 in the SEC. Auburn, Arkansas, and Mizzou are comparable. Suni should sell out SEC arenas and generate some hype though.

  14. 2022 Gymnastics Thread (2022 season news, updates, meet scores, videos, etc).
  15. Which makes sense but we should be happy that he fired Gus last year. This year is a circus and we would be competing with LSU, Florida, ND, USC, Miami, Oklahoma, etc for a new HC. (Most likely, Washington would have hired Harsin this year)
  16. I think they were also planning to visit Citizen, yesterday.
  17. I would pick Bo over BoBo… and I don’t think they are a package deal.
