  1. He is definitely an upgrade. I still hope we will sign another QB but Calzada is definitely more talented than TJ.
  2. MEET WEEK 01/07 at UNC (North Carolina Quad Meet), Chapel Hill, 6:00pm TV: YouTube Live stream: LINK - NC State has withdrawn from the quad meet at North Carolina, which will now be a tri meet with Auburn and Bowling Green. - Suni will compete during the regular season but in a limited role. She will focus on the post-season and the goal is reaching the Final 4. - Graba: “It's a realistic goal for us to get to the final four” - Auburn ranked No. 14 in preseason poll
  3. Apparently kicked off the team…wow
  4. I read that OU was Gabriel’s top choice from the beginning (but for some reason they didn’t offer him)… but it’s a different situation now.
  5. Apparently, Gabriel celebrated a new incoming UCLA transfer just 24 hrs ago…
  6. Five-star junior KJ Evans discusses his options, breaks down game https://stockrisers.com/s/409/five-star-junior-kj-evans-discusses-his-options-breaks-down-game By Jake Weingarten January 2, 2022 The expectations are now extremely high for Baltimore native KJ Evans. Many say he will be the next best star out of Baltimore since Carmelo Anthony and that’s an extreme amount of expectations lofting on the shoulders of Evans. The 6-foot-10 prototypical wing attends Montverde Academy, a program that has continuously been atop the high school ranks virtually every year. [...] Which schools are heavily involved in your recruitment? “Kentucky, Memphis, Indiana, Texas, Oregon, Duke, Syracuse, USC, and Auburn.” How about a program like Auburn? Has Jabari Smith’s impressive year stood out in recruitment? “I like Auburn a lot, they talk to me on a consistent basis, and yes, because I can be like that if I keep working and that’s how they want me to be if I go there.” Anywhere you’re definitely going to visit? “Indiana, Oregon, and Texas.” (Has a visit to IU in Feb.)
  7. 5-star KJ Evans (Baltimore, MD), #1 ranked PF in the nation. http://www.espn.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/242790/kwame-evans Kentucky, Indiana, and Maryland lead but he has noticed Auburn's recent success and follows Jabari Smith:
  8. Great to see that we are recruiting some talented International swimmers. Hopefully, Wochomurka & staff can develop them into future Olympians. Auburn has a history of success with Int. swimmers, esp during the 2008 Olympics: Swimming & Diving http://ocm.auburn.edu/olympic_facts.html * 16 current and former Auburn swimmers competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the second-most in school history. * The swimmers earned 13 Olympic medals, shattering the school record of six medals in a single Olympiad (three gold, seven silver, three bronze). * Kirsty Coventry set the Auburn record of career Olympic medals and medals in a single Olympiad as she earned four to give her a career total of seven. * The 13 medals gave Auburn the most among all colleges and universities during the swimming portion of the Beijing Olympics. California-Berkeley finished second to Auburn with 10 medals, followed by Texas (9), Florida (8) and Southern California (7). Other SEC schools winning swimming medals were Georgia (3) and Tennessee (2). * Cesar Cielo's gold medal in the 50m freestyle is Auburn's first in the event and is also Brazil's first Olympic swimming gold medal. * Current, former and future Auburn swimmers broke 51 national, territorial, continental, Olympic or world records at the Games. * Kirsty Coventry set world records in the 100 back and in the 200 back. * Cesar Cielo and Kirsty Coventry combined to break eight Olympic records in four different events at the 2008 Games. * The total of 13 medals in 2008 nearly doubles Auburn's all-time total in swimming: Auburn swimming now has 28 Olympic medals all-time, beginning with Bill Forrester's bronze medal in 1976. * Auburn swimmers represented 14 different countries at the Beijing Games.
  9. Auburn S&D adds three mid-year enrollees for 2022: - Australian Lewis Tregidden - Russian national Anastasia Makarova - a breaststroke specialist, won three gold medals, a silver medal and a bronze medal at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. In 2019, she won three silver medals at the World Junior Swimming Championships and set personal bests (LCM) in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. This fall, Makarova advanced to the final in the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the 2021 FINA Swimming World Cup in Kazan. https://auburntigers.com/news/2021/12/31/swimming-diving-auburns-d-adds-three-mid-year-enrollees-for-2022.aspx - Alabama native Josh Cobia In addition, Micaela Sierra (Uruguay & Pompano Beach, FL) recently announced her commitment to Auburn: Uruguayan national record holder Micaela Sierra commits to Auburn. https://swimswam.com/uruguayan-national-record-holder-micaela-sierra-commits-to-auburn/
  10. I agree. I don’t really care much about this game. However, there are many red flags. Boise fans warned us about Harsin’s stubbornness. He fired the WR coach early in the season and now he can’t hire an experienced OC, he ran off our legacy QB and now he can’t recruit a decent transfer QB… this is concerning.
  11. Minnesota's Suni Lee seeking balance after her life flipped in one golden year https://www.wctrib.com/sports/7332725-Minnesotas-Suni-Lee-seeking-balance-after-her-life-flipped-in-one-golden-year#.YcpVQjr5fi4.reddit A year ago, Lee led a typical teenage existence, save for the 40-plus hours she spent in the gym every week. She was a senior at South St. Paul High School, living in a quiet East Side neighborhood. A family reunion qualified as a big social event. Now, she's a super star. FULL STORY: https://www.wctrib.com/sports/7332725-Minnesotas-Suni-Lee-seeking-balance-after-her-life-flipped-in-one-golden-year#.YcpVQjr5fi4.reddit [...] Suni's NIL deals: "The Olympics vaulted her into an entirely new sphere. Lee now has a management group — "Team Suni" at Boston-based Smith & Saint — handling her business interests, and the agency pairs with Auburn to field a flood of requests for interviews and public appearances. Agent Britt St. George said Lee has deals with Amazon, Facebook, Free People clothing, GK Elite leotards and the electric vehicle maker VinFast, with more to come in 2022." Upcoming season: "Lee's star power created a run on tickets, with all of Auburn's home meets selling out within four days. A meet at Arkansas was moved to a larger venue to allow more people to see her.
  12. Yates is scheduled to visit Auburn end of January. L.Johnson recently announced his final 6 (minus Auburn). Collier is a Bama and UCLA lean. Carlyle's top3: Baylor, Stanford, and Kansas (should announce his commitment soon).
  13. TJ Finley is the starter: 5-7 Dematrius Davis is the starter: 4-8 Holden Geriner is the starter: 4-8 A transfer QB beats out all players on the current roster: 6-6
  14. Chances are that TJ might get injured again (esp behind this OL) which would leave us with two FR QBs (another injury and we would be in deep trouble).
  15. Not looking good. Apparently, we might not even be in his top3 according to JLee and some insiders. (Carlyle will announce his commitment soon). How is this possible? We suddenly can’t land any Atlanta area kids and other highly rated HS recruits anymore…(except Westry) Collier seems to favor Bama and L.Johnson was a UVA lean (not long ago) Castle is committed to UConn, JNewton committed to Indiana, JWalker signed with Houston. Interestingly, Newton, Walker, Castle, and Carlyle all visited Auburn when we hosted UGA. - - - - Did the self-imposed recruiting ban (6 months) hurt us? Did other teams use the NCAA investigation against us (negative recruiting)? Maybe we signed too many (high-profile) transfers this year? I keep reading our facilities are not on par (esp. when compared to traditional Basketball schools), maybe that’s the reason? Other programs seem to have figured out NIL already and we are still lagging behind(?) It’s puzzling. We have a great team, great coaching staff, Final4 appearance just a few years ago, potential #1 NBA draft pick… we basically own(ed) the Atlanta region in recruiting and we aren’t losing talent to local teams (UGA, GA Tech, etc).
  16. What’s up with all the Vandagriff rumors? Would be great to have him here but he isn’t even in the portal.
  17. Same here. I watched both semi-finals and I am pretty impressed with College Volleyball in general. I am getting more interested. There is a recruiting service similar to rivals, 247 rating and ranking classes, etc, I might subscribe to it ($4/month) but I need to have a better sense of the direction of our program first.
  18. FSU basically has the same program in place now. Anyways, our program won't help with recruiting the top recruits much. It only helps to keep current players happy or luring some 3stars. The top recruits basically get guaranteed $ financed by businesses. I keep hearing Michigan landed Clemons and other players (UM flipped a WR committed to ND on signing day) because of a NIL deal (Tom Brady's company is behind it). UM can basically tell Clemons and others that Tom Brady deals guarantee x $ to signees while with our program we only have the technology in place but no deals (unless we have businesses involved guaranteeing $ to signees).
