  1. If it can be shared, are we currently the leader? Or does he have any? This guy would very likely be the cure for our current QB curse. We MUST get him!

Just imagine how good the offense could be by 2018: Stidham with a year under his belt and Barrett ready to go, an experienced and deep RB corps led by Kam and Kerryon, NCM with a couple years of starting experience, a veteran HB in Chandler Cox, and a line experienced enough to not be a liability.

    Yeah, that would be good.

  2. Madison Academy Pipeline

Dude, this is unheard of if you think about it - the Tahd used to have that part of the state sown up and now Auburn's got it on lock. Madison Academy is a damn good pipeline to have considering they win or make a run at a state title and produce one of the nation's top prospects each and every year.

Major props to Tim Horton. Bravo, coach!

The only high school in the state I can think of that's even close to being historically considered an "AU pipeline" is Opelika. I would think Huntsville would be a more pro-Auburn city with the Space Center.

Well of course Opelika is a pipeline; that just makes geographical sense. Three years in a row though we have gotten commitments from three highly regarded recruits from MA so that's nothing to sneeze at.

Yeah, but you'd think the same about AHS.

  4. Need him with losing out on Benton...how the heck did we let that happen?!

On a more positive note, from what I can tell in the OP, that's either a typo or he just got upgraded, especially since he doesn't have that many offers. Seems like a good number of our recruits the past week got upgraded. For all my criticisms of our coaches that's the mark of good talent evaluation.

  5. Thinking about an overall timetable of expectations for the next four years (a topic which certainly relates to JG and our other QBs), we should aim for at least 8 (counting bowl) wins for both the next two years and in both '18 and '19, aim for at least 9 (counting bowl) wins, and expect a championship run in one of the two.

If the D is as good as people are hoping in 2016 we can get 8 w/ mediocre QB play. Good play & we can beat anyone of the big 4.

I hope this works out to be true. Our D looks great on paper, they need to play to their potential. The QB situation still does not look great. It can't be worse than last year.

The trouble is that we could have a bad QB situation until 2018. Say Sean doesn't work out, Woody has to go to JUCO, and we can't sign any QB in this next class. Even if Sean is a good QB, our depth in '17 would be horrible. The question then is should we give Gus a free pass until 2018, or should we fire him at the obvious risk of losing WB and/or JG?

Let's hope WB, at very worst, goes to prep school, Mond signs, JG sticks, and of course, that SW work out.

Woody is not going to juco or prep school. He will be at AU, Just not in the early Summer like the rest of the class because his high school does not have graduation til mid June. Worst case scenario is he does not get to AU til early August. And we will sign a QB in this class. I'm not sure it will be a big time QB but we will sign 1.

Woah. Now that's a display of confidence (or inside info).

  8. ^Agreed. We NEED to get someone out of JUCO (or prep school if WB goes there) for the 2017 class! We could be stuck in the SEC cellar until Gatewood arrives or has a year under his belt if not. If we stay in that cellar for the next two years, should we make a coaching change? Or should we keep GM to get JG?

Please Joey, stick with us and QUALIFY! And graduating early would be nice...

  9. Kid is going to be a good one but there is now way he can live up to the expectations that will be expected of him. Cam was a once in generation type of player. Damn sure glad I got to see Cam firsthand. 2010 Iron Bowl will go down as one of the best days of my life. GLORIOUS.

Unfortunately by the time he arrives we may DESPERATELY need him to start. Depends on Sean working out and Woody qualifying (and working out). Either way--but especially if Gatewood is our program's only hope at QB--Jay, please don't schedule a good OOC opponent in 2018!

  10. http://www.al.com/au...er_mobile_index

Seems to be a target of CDC and LSU

[Assuming Rhett is who drove off DC] I swear, if RL costs us JG... :realmad:

The obvious question is how soon we'll need him to start. We can't afford to have to wait for him and need him to be ready immediately upon arrival--I shudder at the thought of two more seasons of 2015-level play, especially since it might take him time to develop. If at least one of Sean or Woody is developed well, that likely won't be the case.

Either way, he could make SEC Ds panic one day.
