Owen has someone to meet up with across the middle now.
Oh, I'll bet because it's Georgia, his grades will suddenly, miraculously improve.

What a punk. Commits to a school for a year and a half and flips on signing day after playing every school he visits the whole time. Hope we lock him down.

Hopefully we get a sequel to this. With Pickens playing the role of Reggie Brown.

If we lose both of our OL recruits (Henry and Bell) to FSU, after whiffing on every other desirable OL prospect, something has to be done about Grimes. We cannot afford to have such a gaping hole in recruiting at this position any longer.
Could he be let go after today?

I unfortunately agree with you....I could easily see that exct scenario playing out or What I'm optimistically hoping......We land OT Ira Henry/ OG Kamaar Bell, and pick up a Transfer with 2 years eligibilty left.....Sammons becomes a freak as well as Hamm....and we have a 9-10 win season next year and come in highly under the radar in 202 with B Nix and a beast of recieving corps and Rbs and we make a run and JB Grime Rehire looks like the move of the century and our OL crooting picks up and we make a dynasty run and Gus finally turns the corner as a Head Ball Coach!!!!!! One can dream
Now, our schedule might just be rough enough this year to keep that scenario from playing out. But looking back at previous years in which I thought our schedule was going to keep us from even reaching a bowl, there seems to be 1-2 teams that disappoint epically (how I felt with 2016, and we should have and would have won AT LEAST nine games if Gus runs the option the whole game at Georgia--or, you know, went after Evans instead of JF3; LSU and Ole Miss were marked as automatic losses that year). And having all those players come back...it just has the classic feel of a surprise Auburn season. But I think the Grimes re-hire will ultimately seal his fate in 2020. BTW, leap years seem to have a habit of killing Auburn coaches' careers. Barfield, Dye, Tubs, Chizk...their last years were all leap years, and Gus could be next.
But hey, we would shave an extra year off of the buyout!

Or didn't strongly go after.
My official prediction at this point is that Gus gets fired after 2020. I think he coaches his heart out this year and somehow wins 9-10 games with the help of the veteran lines. And then all but one of our starting linemen leave, and pop goes the weasel thanks in large, large part to the incredibly stupid re-hire of JB Grimes.
2019 = 1997
2020 = 1998

Sudden death is a really dumb idea.

Of course Dee Ford makes the crucial mistake. 😑
EDIT: So apparently (six months later) the LT was also offsides. Refs helping Patriots like usual.

WOW. What a break for KC.
(Of course, NE's got several breaks already. So it was due.)

I'm pulling for Kansas City, but god, that tomahawk cheer still gives me some very painful flashbacks to THAT game.

It was made crystal clear long before he signed that Joey was going to be a project FWIW.
Uuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh huh. Like I said, we'll be saying the same exact things about Bo.
November 2019: "Bo was always going to be a project!"
So if you're correct, is Gustav capable of signing a damn HS QB who ISN'T a project?

What a great career . Glad he is coming to AU . Nix is going to attract a lot of big time skill players
I hope so. Hopefully we won't be calling him a "project" this time next year. Gatewood was supposed to be the whole package as well.

Got to give you credit. When you mailed you melt hard, albeit some of it irrational though.
What can I say, I commit.

Takes more than being an accurate passer though. Your passing has to create explosive plays which his really hasn't done yet in his career. I still think he's the best option for 2019 though.
Fat chance we have of actually getting him. Program is falling the hell apart and we're likely stuck with him for two more years. Be shocked if either Pappoe or Pickens sticks with us. Unbelievable. Now we get to experience what Tennessee has gone through the last decade.

We offered a 3* LB today. Will wait to see if we need to make a thread on him.
Bad sign for Pappoe?
With all this lack of player development, do you know how bad we would have to be next year for a change?
-
I mean, glad to have him, but the fact that he was a 2*, as Morris and Pappoe potentially look elsewhere, plus the fact that we're ranked 32 on 247 makes me really, really concerned.
-
I hope this helps with Pappoe.

As usual at this point, it's way too early to tell. I can only hope the lackluster finish to this year's class and having only two commits this year doesn't mean we're slipping into the same territory as the 2008-9 classes.

Silver lining for today (not that it was "bad," but still).

So on Rivals we have a higher ranked class than UAT. Wut

Cutting down on freaking attrition will help that depth issue tremendously IMO.
And before someone pipes in that our attrition is normal and on par with our conference brethren......When we don't bring in the top talent compared to our main rivals on the front end, then when we lose players to attrition it hurts us even more than them.
Can we please hire another Virgil Starks figure? Pleeeeeaaasssee?

Garner is a alpha. SO is T will. Marcus Woodson seems like one also. But it means A lot more when the head of the program exudes that.
Why I wanted Kiffin after the LSU game and still want him if we need a new coach. Hoping LSU doesnt get their hands on him.

I fear Dabo is “planting” him, if you get what I’m saying. Really hate it when recruits do this. You still feeling good E?
