    I have zero concerns about this but it's a fair point to bring up until he proves it.

    By the way, I don't think he'll prove it to everyone in the 2022 cycle. We'll have a fine class but I don't think we start talking about >= top 7 classes until 2023. After that, I'll expect them consistently and I'll expect us to flirt with top 5 at least every other year. I truly believe that should be our expectation for this program.

    Need top 20 this year, top 12 next year and top 10 each year after.

    True.  saban’s first season at bama was 6-7, and the cupboard wasn’t full, but wasn’t bare either.    It took Dabo about 5 years to get to where they wanted to be.   It’s not about wins and losses as much as it is finding a coach with a great plan for your program, and the ability to teach and motivate players to accomplish that plan.

    Exactly. And Gus got to 9 wins in 3 of 7 seasons. Why are some trying to set that as the standard for Harsin's first season? I think I know why, but it's weird.

    And all wins and losses aren't the same. For example, let's not blow a huge lead with insane play calling. Let's never, ever have 117 yards of total offense in a game.

    Well, as long as that isn't what it takes to get the recruits banging down our door. Currently it's pretty quiet on that front, and we still have plenty of ground to cover.

    Post upvoted by AUwent, the other blatant Gus altar-boy who is just fuming that we haven't "turned into Tennessee" after letting the last guy go.

    No love for Gus, I just hear over and over again how tough our schedule is and realize that that's how our schedule is going to be for probably the following three years, hopefully we get some relief in the form of a pod schedule. Also as it stands we still have plenty of work to be done in recruiting, though it's entirely doable.

    Like Auburn the zero chance of winning a natty. Btw we play Michigan in a white out as well. Better hope Bruce Pearl delivers ass ****, maybe he can buy some More players to keep you relevant as a school.

    You know I’ve cringed whenever people have made jokes about <the city that holds Cedar Point> but you’re just making it easier for them.

    Yes it is. And that's a plus. Bur there is a world of difference between "veteran and talent."

    Obviously, we're going to need to keep up the progress we have made in recruiting. Bare minimum we need a top 25 class this year but really we need a top 20.  Now, we're currently higher than where we were in 2021 class when Harsin was hired, and he did eke out a top 20 class. So that's reason for optimism.

    Plainsmen=17

    Nappy Lions=27

    O-Line caves in. Talent just not there this year.(And no, I do not like picking against my Tigers. Hope I'm so wrong)

    If that's the case, then it won't be there until at least 2023. This is a veteran team.
