  1. points taken. (out of thumbs up for the day already. )
  2. Win or lose, He will replay this game in his head for a long time thinking "should I have done this that or the other thing." What could I have done different?" etc. for a long time. He will learn so much from this. He needs about 50 games worth of this experience before he is truly ready for an SEC head coaching position. When he is ready tho.... WHACH OUT! He is a natural leader.
  3. so, just his famous name. football in the SEC is about more than just recruiting. Head coach is about more than recruiting and coaching. The guy brings literally nothing else to the table.
  4. It is not an excuse. I just don't care about his private life. Christ doesn't care about who we hire.
  5. true with any coach, but Kiffin and others have more to bring to the table than just r a famous name. Experience comes to mind first.
  6. I gotha' . am not talking to those people. I am not on the freeze bandwagon yet because I do not want to ever get sanctions against us. I lived though the "I saw it on the radio" era and the aftermath of the scholly reductions. That hangs on the back of my mind. Freeze got Ole Miss in trouble. that is my main concern. I could care less about his personal life. The way football is today, big sanctions will destroy a team. And Auburn never gets "just a slap on the wrist."
  7. @Auburn Tiger what does Deon bring to the table other than his name that make you think he can compete with the SEC elite?
  8. he will bring in some talent, but he is not a miracle worker. The rest of the sec has some good recruiters also. When he gets his ass handed to him by some of the elite minds in the SEC recruiting will start to fail. then he brings nothing to the table.
  9. If you are going to claim moral high ground .... "Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged" what a hypocritical Christian you must be .
  10. Prime is a joke and brings nothing to the table that the SEC elite are not way better at but his famous name.
  11. Hasn't kliffin been saying all along that he is staying at UM? what has changed? Has he signed on the dotted line yet?
  12. Supposedly, Kiffen Reached out to ESPN and told them he was staying at ole miss. If we trying not to over ride Cadillac's big day, we failed. This news will kill some momentum. The coaching search/Freeze will be a major talking point the whole game.
  13. Those are not mutually exclusive for me. It is not a moral issue for me. it is a probation issue. The 1993 sanctions against us hurt the program for years... Any hard sanctions may be the death penalty for a school in todays football climate. we have fired coaches in the past for much less.
  14. It is possible it is not over. ALL signs point to Freeze right now, but all the evidence is still circumstantial. There are still NO facts. We still know as much as we did 3 weeks ago. Nothing has really changed but the rumors. I suspect the Freeze rumors are true, but who really knows, and how do they know it?
  15. I am not totally against Freeze, and my s***ty opinion will not effect the outcome in anyway. I like the man as a coach, my gut is telling me to run away. I will support him, but something just feels "off" about that man to me. When I get to know him more, that may change. Saw this posted on another board... "Once a cheater always a cheater." Almost invariably, I have found that to be true. It is not just about money and NIL. There are still rules. Probation can come from issues that do not involve money at all. It may take me a while to warn up to the idea of Freeze as head coach. It may be a while before I will not be nervous about what is going on behind the scenes if HF is coach. I am OK with it, but I hope he give me reason to LOVE him as a coach. WDE
  16. This is why we are waiting 'til after the Iron Bowl. Talk about taking the wind out of our sails. Freeze would be OK , but I do not trust him to keep us off probation.
  17. If it is Caddy, our fan base will have to understand he will be learning on the job. We may have some good years, but it will be 6-7 years before we are consistent. He does not have the experience of making successful and failed decisions as a head coach to learn from. Being a head coach is a lot more than just coaching the kids. Auburn fans would likely turn on him before we would get consistent. It would not be fair to Caddy. Let him grow into a HC and come back when he is really ready. He will be bad ass when he is ready. Do you want the brain surgeon working on your kid with lots of potential but no experience, or do you want a surgeon that has seen it all, learn from his mistakes, and dealt with lots of high pressure situations when random surprise events happen?
  18. special teams, turn overs No stupid penalties. We need a blocked punt, long kick or punt returns, +2 turn overs, and ZERO penalties at inopportune times.
  19. it is not common at this point. UM's season is over. check the video in the link above. Watch his mannerisms and body language when blatantly asked if he will be Coach at Mississippi next year. He very uncomfortably, but directly answered , "yes." He is asked multiple times.
  20. May be, but maybe he is keeping his mouth shut under order of Auburn his new employer out of respect of Caddy. He looks uncomfortable as if he is lying to ole miss but honestly does not want to. Like a POW, on camera, at gunpoint saying "They are treating me great here. My country is bad." As if he doesn't have a choice or being forced to say what he has been saying. The whole situation is odd, but I do not think it is all Kiffin. esp if we are demanding he wait til after the iron bowl to say anything. If that is the case, it is an admirable trait, not childish. But I am just spit balling here.
  21. Sources say an Auburn HC announcement will come after the Iron Bowl out of respect for interim coach Cadillac Williams. Sources expect the next Auburn HC will be either Lane Kiffin or Hugh Freeze Jon Sokoloff “Auburn HC announcement will come after the Iron Bowl out of respect for Cadillac Williams”
  22. they really do make it that easy. If you can get in you can go there for very cheap or free. The hard part is getting past the interviews with the prominent alumni. Tuition is pocket change to the school. They have plenty of money. They will even fly you to Harvard for the interview if there are no Harvard interviewers in your area.
  23. My opinion on what coach, changes daily based on the latest rumor and gossip.
