Agree 1000%. Deion has the highest ceiling by far with the ability to drastically move the needle. He’s the obvious game changer. Lane would be a distant 2 as far as moving the needle but I’d still be really happy with it, and then there’s another big drop off to the rest of the remaining reasonable candidates.

I might just be feeling optimistic but I agree as well. I think it may take him being a little proactive and pursuing it (and also be willing to interview), I think he’d kill it. In a closed setting with him doing his thing I think could seal the deal. Just got to get to the tangible interview portion first though.

There won’t be any use in transferring and taking another year of wear & tear imo. He’ll be off to the league and AU would have provided him very little for his efforts. This is not the career that a back of his ability should have had at the University Formerly Known As RBU.

That’s fair enough and if the only talk involving our former coach was roster based it wouldn’t bug me so much. It’s the constant scheme discussions, contract extension debate, etc that go on ad nauseam that have nothing to do with our current roster woes. Basically folks like to argue imo and Gus is just the means to an end for that. I have no doubt someone will take these examples and try to correlate them into why using these translates to more Gus debate, which proves my last point on just wanting to argue with someone with a differing opinion lol.

I find it odd that folks reference him so much period, good or bad. It’s really weird to me how much people either love to defend or love to bash the man. Maybe if everyone could move on we could solve our current crapfest.

It’s got a risk to it, I don’t think anyone disagrees with that. The thing is, the same can be said of everyone. There is no sure fire candidate, with zero baggage out there, that is guaranteed to work out and we all live happily ever after. It’s all a crapshoot to some degree.

Well I’ve lived long enough to have my own Barfield I guess. This has been an impressive crash and burn hire- a total failure in every aspect. How anyone can remotely defend this guy is part of the problem around here.
