  1. you are absolutely right. i still fell bad for that child. my question is if everyone was doing things the safe way with the shots and masking would the child have died?
  2. if enough players get covid you forfeit that game. no redo's at the end of the season. if auburn has a breakout and it hurts the win loss column people will lose their minds. some anyway.
  3. and by the way a2win just for the record i am not threatening you or anyone else. i have no kids much less grandkids but i bet you this will happen in the future. i am almost 66 and fat and covid terrifies me but it has hit close to home and i can tell you the horror stories of the suffering folks went through before they pass. if i got that mess i would ask the hospital to put me in an induced coma so as not to sufffer so much.
  4. are they not giving the vaccine to children under a certain age? i think you might have to be ten or older? i think i read that somewhere. i probably have it screwed up. my point is a five year old boy just died from the new strain and i posted the article in the meemaw thread in politics smack down section. let me say this. if you kill my grandson because you refused to try to protect everyone as well as yourself do you deserve to live? i would be sorely tempted to break the law.
  5. i take bribes...............
  6. but if someone carries from not getting the vaccine and they give it to another who dies what would you call it? careless? murder?bad luck? you should not be allowed to jeopardize anothers health unless you have proof of somekind the vaccine would do you harm. pass the biscuits warned everyone and i often wonder if someone got nasty with him about it.
  7. as many times as you have had to edit my articles i feel like we are family so it makes me proud to see it seems we are fairly like minded.................
  8. Terry Bowden reveals Bobby Bowden has pancreatic cancer By Creg Stephenson | cstephenson@al.com 3 minutes Legendary Florida State coach Bobby Bowden has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, his son Terry said Thursday. (AP Photo/David J. Phillip, File)AP Bobby Bowden has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, his son Terry said Thursday. Bobby Bowden, the legendary Florida State football coach and Birmingham native, announced Wednesday he had been diagnosed with an undisclosed “terminal medical condition.” The 91-year-old Birmingham native is a three-time cancer survivor, twice beating skin cancer and once prostate cancer. Terry Bowden, now head coach at Louisiana-Monroe, announced the specifics of his father’s illness during an appearance at Sun Belt Conference Media Day in New Orleans Thursday. “We’ve known for about 10 days,” Terry Bowden said, via ESPN. “We’ve been preparing for this. We know when you have pancreatic cancer, which is what the disease is, you’re probably talking months, not years, so we know that. We just think we’ve got some more good days ahead, and we’re going to enjoy those together. “I would plead that all people would respect the fact he needs to rest when he’s up. He doesn’t need a lot of phone calls, or a lot of people talking on the phone. You know my dad; he has never turned down an interview in his life. He’ll be on his deathbed [doing] an interview the last minute he does it. But, that’s Bobby Bowden.” In his statement released to the Tallahassee Democrat on Wednesday, Bobby Bowden said he was “at peace” with his diagnosis. “I’ve always tried to serve God’s purpose for my life, on and off the field, and I am prepared for what is to come,” Bowden said. “My wife Ann and our family have been life’s greatest blessing. I am at peace.” Bobby Bowden grew up in Birmingham, and played football at Howard College (now Samford University), graduating in 1953. After a stint as head coach at his alma mater and several stops as an assistant, he coached at West Virginia from 1970-75 before taking over a moribund Florida State program in 1976. Bowden won 316 games and two national championships in 34 seasons with the Seminoles, and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006. He ranks second all-time among FBS coaches in victories with 377, behind only Joe Paterno’s 409. Bowden and his wife, Ann — also a Birmingham native — have been married for 72 years. They have six children (including coaching sons Terry, Tommy and Jeff) and 21 grandchildren or great-grandchildren.
  9. anyone that voted for trump is suspect in my book and are the real morons here. trump screwed up the pandemic so bad he needless killed thousands with his mouth.
  10. i am not sure but that kid took fifty days to smother to death. fifty days of oxygen and still struggling to breathe. it is horrible and i have been told this first hand by a couple of friends who had family members die. and during the surges many of them died alone with no family to comfort them. it is sad.
  11. Pell City mother loses son to COVID, changes her mind about getting COVID-19 vaccine 2 minutes BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - A Pell City mother said she has changed her mind about getting the COVID-19 vaccine after losing her son to the virus. Christy Carpenter said her son Curt died from COVID complications. He was unvaccinated. Christy said her daughter Cayla, her son Curt, and Christy were all diagnosed with COVID-19 in March 2021. Curt was hospitalized for 50 days before he passed away. Christy was in the hospital for eight days and she is still on oxygen. Christy said she was hesitant about the vaccine before they all got COVID. She felt like it was developed too quickly, and because she had some other health concerns, she wasn’t sure about getting it. Christy said through sharing her story she hopes more people will take the vaccine to protect themselves and their loved ones. She said she was told if she gets COVID again, with her lung health, she might not pull through. She said her daughter told her they would go together to get the vaccine to help prevent the virus. Cayla told her mom we need to get the vaccine because, “I can’t go through this again.” Mom and daughter are scheduled to get the vaccine on July 2
  12. GOP Governor Says It's Time To 'Blame The Unvaccinated' For Pandemic Surge Ed Mazza Fri, July 23, 2021, 3:22 AM A Republican governor in one of the states hit hardest by the delta variant of the coronavirus called out those who’ve refused the vaccine on Thursday. “It’s time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks, not the regular folks,” said Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey, per CBS 42 in Birmingham. “It’s the unvaccinated folks that are letting us down.” Ivey, who was vaccinated in December, also seemed to throw some shade at Fox News and other right-wing media outlets. “Media, I want you to start reporting the facts,” she said. “The new cases of COVID are because of unvaccinated folks. Almost 100 percent of the new hospitalizations are with unvaccinated folks. And the deaths are certainly occurring with the unvaccinated folks.” Although she didn’t name names, Fox News hosts, such as Tucker Carlson, have attempted to cast doubt on the effectiveness of the coronavirus vaccines. Carlson said the notion that the U.S. was now in a pandemic of the unvaccinated was “simply untrue” and “a lie.” Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R), who was vaccinated in December, threw some shade at Fox News and other right-wing media outlets for providing misinformation about the coronavirus vaccines. (Photo: Marvin Gentry via Reuters) One Alabama ER doc recently shared the haunting tales of dying coronavirus patients who begged for the vaccine that they had previously refused. “I hold their hand and tell them that I’m sorry, but it’s too late,” Dr. Brytney Cobia wrote on Facebook. Alabama has seen a 311% jump in cases over the past two weeks, according to The New York Times, and a 92% increase in hospitalizations. The state’s rate of 23 new cases per 100,000 people was tied for the ninth highest in the nation. Alabama is also tied for the lowest vaccination rate in the U.S. Ivey has not exactly helped her case. Last week, she rejected a plan by President Joe Biden in which community-based volunteers would go door to door to encourage COVID-19 vaccination and offer help to those who need it. She also signed a bill banning “vaccine passports” in her state. That same law also banned businesses from requiring vaccination or even asking about vaccination status and banned schools, including colleges, from requiring the vaccine despite the fact that Alabama schools currently require multiple shots, with certain exemptions allowed. Earlier this week, Ivey rejected a call for wearing masks in schools that was made by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
  13. both sides have attack machines solely to discredit the other sides talking points. it too often bites us in the ass. let someone who could care less about his brothers and sisters refuse to get the vaccine and get it and pass it on to others and someone dies from it to me that is just plain ol murder. my question is why do people think so less of their fellow man? if you realize you might save a life why not step up? this crap of letting old people die and thinning out the herd is bull****. you are playing lossely with peoples lives. you get reckless in a car and kill someone it is murder. same way with guns. you get reckless with guns and kill someone it is murder. covid is not and has never been political to me. it is simply about surviving. i will probably get a flu or pneumonia as i have been told it also helps strengthen the covid vaccine. i will be checking on that one soon to see if it is real or bull. but with blue cross and medicare the shots are free. have you heard anything on this?

  19. so to hell with the girls matt trafficked? i got you. bob does not have a damn thing to do with matt and the fact you would throw that little girl under the bus shows your true colors. oh and his friend turned on him and has given or will give testimony so maybe matt will get his. and as far as bob goes if he trafficked little girls i hope he gets his as well. damn shame you cannot sack up and say it about matt. but the repubs are nothing more than crooks and nationalists with a few decent republicans left hanging in the lurch.

  22. i smell something bad in here.smells like..................bullsh*t. biden is not trying to bang those little girls. and for you to mention them both shows me what kind of person you are. why would you want to smear someone by even suggestion that? the one little girl was his grandkid who he was trying to comfort at her dads funeral. see you are still an idiot. you did not answer the original question you had to spin it. you were frothing at the mouth to get rid of those guys but you want an investigation on matt? this is why i wish you would just go away. you already voted for one of the biggest scumbags in the history of politics. but that is the way most of you trumpers operate. i expected better but now i have just given up.
