  2. i am not real big on any of them. i like a lot of the things biden did but i wholeheartedly agree he is too old. so is the donald. this country could do so much better if we all just quit falling for the bullcrap on both sides. call me a dummy but i thought libs were mostly innocent but i see fact check stuff on trump where my side made crap up. i mean come on. who has to make up stuff about him? this country should be electing its best and brightest. and i hate a liar. well i use the word but i do not mean it literally. i wish we had a truth in journalism law. not to stop freedom of speech but to go after those who slander anyone or abuse the privilege that many in this world do not get to enjoy.

  8. Opinion Editorial: More bills for Trump to not pay: Another verdict against the con man New York Daily News Editorial Board, New York Daily News Mon, February 19, 2024 at 3:00 AM CST·3 min read 1.6k Spencer Platt/Getty Images North America/TNS In ordering defendant Donald Trump to pay New York State more than a third of a billion dollars, Manhattan state Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron cited exact figures of how much Trump was improperly enriched by his cheating and lying. Engoron used calculations from an expert witness put forward by state Attorney General Tish James, who is to be heartily congratulated for pursuing and beating Trump. Because Trump made up fraudulent statements of his financial condition (SFC) — falsely increasing or lowering the value of his holdings to suit his needs and deceive lenders and insurers — he managed to save substantial sums on interest from duped banks. On the four loans examined, Trump saved $168,040,168 in interest, which Engoron ordered be paid to the state. The judge also decided that Trump’s fake SFC let him buy and then sell the Old Post Office in D.C., so that the nice $126,828,600 profit must also be disgorged. The same for the $60 million Trump gained from his sale of the contract for Ferry Point golf course in the Bronx. Without the fake SFC, there would not have been Trump Links at the foot of the Whitestone Bridge. So that $60 million needs to be remitted to taxpayers. Take out the adding machine to get the full amount due of $354,868,768. Engoron was much gentler in only barring Trump from doing business in this state for three years, instead of the lifetime prohibition that was possible. Trump’s sons each got a two-year suspension, while the Trump Organization will continue to be overseen by a court appointed monitor, a retired federal judge. In his lengthy written verdict Engoron also included a passage describing Trump and his sons: “Their complete lack of contrition and remorse borders on pathological.” Your honor, everyone in America and the world knows that about this family, unfortunately. All of Trump’s civil and criminal court trouble is because this con man ran and was elected president eight years ago. Before then, he was just a cheat and a liar. It was on Feb. 27, 2019, five years ago, when his convicted bag man Michael Cohen (who was convicted for crimes committed to aid Trump) told a House committee that Trump routinely played around with the value of his properties. From that Cohen confession led to this guilty verdict. Thank you, Mr. Cohen. It’s similar for the $83,300,000 verdict Trump was ordered by a federal judge to pay E. Jean Carroll for defaming her, on top of the $5 million he already owed her. Had he never been president, it is likely there never would have been a defamation case. And it’s the same for the four criminal trials now approaching. By putting himself in the White House, Trump invited scrutiny and what investigators found was his true criminal nature, which was evident for many decades to New Yorkers, long before he had his name on a ballot. Sadly, there are too many Americans who are entertained and engaged by Trump and have given him their support, their votes and their contributions, money which he uses for his legal bills. He has now started fundraising off of the Engoron verdict. The Census Bureau says the U.S. population was 335,893,238 as of Jan. 1. So all Trump needs is $1 from each. ___ Up next Up next Up next Up next Up next
  9. Five players who made an impact in Auburn softball’s 3-0 weekend in Mexico Taylor Jones Mon, February 19, 2024 at 6:00 AM CST·3 min read The No. 25 Auburn Tigers had a successful week by sweeping the competition at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge in Mexico. The Tigers rebounded from a disappointing opening weekend to win three games in three separate ways. Auburn won its first game of the week on Wednesday over Wichita State in eight innings, opened Thursday’s action with a 6-3 win over UC Davis, and ended the day with a literal walk-off victory over No. 13 Utah to earn its first win over a ranked opponent. Several players made an impact on Auburn’s successful weekend, from a two-home run performance to a 10-strikeout outing. Here are the five players that stood out the most during Auburn’s time at the Puerto Vallarta College Classic. Rose Roach Grayson Belanger/Auburn Tigers Rose Roach recorded just one hit in Mexico, which was an RBI single in the top of the 2nd inning in Auburn’s extra-innings win over Wichita State on Wednesday. However, her most important swing took place later in the game. In the 8th inning, she grounded out to the Shocker’s shortstop to score Axe Milanowski from third base to push Auburn ahead, 7-6. She also recorded a bases-loaded walk in the 4th inning, which added to her three-RBI game. KK McCrary Jacob Taylor/AU Athletics KK McCrary had another productive week at the plate for Auburn by recording three hits over three games in Mexico. In Thursday’s finale against No. 13 Utah, McCrary led the team in hits with two in the Tigers 1-0 win. Nelia Peralta Grayson Belanger/Auburn Tigers Nelia Peralta recorded three hits in last week’s action, with Thursday’s game with UC Davis being her most productive. She went 2-for-4 in the Tigers’ 6-3 win over the Aggies. In Wednesday’s extra-inning win over Wichita State, Peralta recorded two RBI. She earned her first on a groundout in the 4th inning, and she scored the final run of the 8th inning on a single to score Skylar Elkins. Amelia Lech Grayson Belanger/Auburn Tigers Maryland transfer Amelia Lech used her power yet again to make her way onto this list. Lech was responsible for all six for Auburn’s runs in the win over UC Davis on Thursday, scoring all runs with two swings of the bat. She put Auburn on the board in the 1st inning with a two-out grand slam, and capped scoring in the 6th with a two-run blast. She now has four home runs on the season with nine RBI. She leads the team in both categories. Maddie Penta Grayson Belanger/Auburn Tigers Right-hander Maddie Penta is this week’s top player after another great week in the circle. In two outings, Penta recorded 15 strikeouts, nine hits, four walks, and just one earned run in 13 1/3 innings. In Auburn’s 8-6 win over Wichita State on Wednesday, Penta struck out 10 batters and allowed three hits in 6 1/3 innings of work.
