  1. Harsin- has finished his first season on a 5 game losing streak. AU has blown a lead in most if not all 5 losses, and looked inept in several 2nd halves of said games. Already fired 2 offensive coaches and Friend's future appears to be unclear. OL- Harsin and the entire offense have been limited in what they can do by a group that isn't SEC average esp. in run blocking. Pass blocking hasn't been as bad but not great. Not sure how to split this and overall talent. Defense- I only put them on here because of Mason's lack of substitution, which led to some 2nd half fatigue. Lack of overall talent- Minus Tank, not a single player on offense would see significant playing time for any of the top half SEC teams. And not many middle tier teams. Defense is in better shape but McCreary is the only real elite guy there. Gus- took an absolute wrecking ball to OL recruiting. Just unbelievable at this level. In an era of everyone throwing the ball around he left an OL that struggles blocking, QB's who cant complete basic throws and probably the weakest WR group in the SEC. Just a train wreck. And I'm firmly convinced getting rid of Gus was the right move, the mistake was keeping him around too long. I'm also not sure hiring Harsin was the right move but hopefully things work out.
  2. Coaches have short memories and love a paycheck.
  3. Im giving them a few days to work it out, then Im going to Fubo to finish football season.
  4. Sounds like Auburns confidence is dropping. Really wanted this guy.
  5. The 2 most intriguing recruitments to me are Perry and Woodyard. Both sides have expressed confidence in Perry, that typically doesnt bode well for AU. Woodyard has been described as a probable flip so long it seems like he should be listed as an AU commit. Yet, Bama knows the talk and as far as Ive read, they still havnt cut bait and moved on to their next guy. Waiting to see what happens there.
  6. Tim Watts, The BOL reporter, says Perry is just building drama and Watts is confident he signs with Bama.
  7. I was so relieved to finally move on from Gus, I thought it was really a chance to give the FB program a shot of enthusiasm and try to get back closer to the top of the conference than the bottom. But the terrible losses, lack of recruiting momentum and coaching changes have not given me much hope to this point. Hopefully Harsin can finish strong recruiting and the coaching changes work out for the best. If those concerns make me a doom and gloomer, I guess I am. I would only ask if this was a program other than Auburn would the same Auburn fans feel that program was headed in the right direction based on what we've seen so far?
  8. From listening to people that cover Auburn, at least partly due to his nickel and diming the AU coaches in all sports to the point that Burgess was assigned to the athletic department to smooth things out. Ive seen articles from at least 2 programs where he was under consideration for their openings, it seems pretty apparent he's looking for an exit ramp. Again, this info came from folks here that know things and listening to podcasts from the AU websites, Im certainly no insider.
  9. Time will tell if this was a good hire or not, but Harsin will have fired his WR coach, his OC and it appears his O-Line coach in a year. It seems some skepticism is fair regarding his hiring of assistants. And the 2 people that hired him here are going to be gone from AU in a matter of months. AU finished 0 for November, 6-6 overall and recruiting to this point is far below average. Matthews said he expects 12-13 transfers before its over. Not saying Harsin can't turn things around, but it seems there are valid concerns about the current state of AU football.
  10. Why hasnt this been announced yet? Seems to be an open secret?
  11. Riley took LSU and Oklahoma both for a ride. The word mustve been out that he was looking to leave Oklahoma, despite his denials.
  12. Thats a long answer to say nothing. Dont know if he leaves or not but theres no doubt hes interested in the Washington job.
  13. And the whole argument of him not fitting the system makes no sense. Harsin could've cut him loose before he signed here if he had no intent on playing him. Davis and his family were clear that they were committed to AU and werent afraid of competition. And why wouldn't you give him a chance to make something happen when the season was obviously spiraling down? Then the rumors of him transferring after the season started popping up and Harsin made it clear that Loy was the next in line at QB. Findley is obviously not the answer and you keep him in with one good leg against Bama?
  14. Has Davis been told he's not gonna play here? Harsin doesn't seem to want to discuss him when asked. I mean Finley could barely walk and lets be honest he wasn't setting the world on fire before the injury. Can Davis not even get a look?
  15. Everyone gasped when A&M gave Jimbo a 10yr deal, now Tucker has one on the table and Franklin has a signed deal. Is this going to be the new expectation for a University to show their coach they love him?
  16. AU has tried to land McGee more than once and he said no thanks. His career is on a great path at UGA.
  17. The obvious problem here is he and this staff he's assembled have shown NO sign of getting these players to Auburn. And I understand people wanting the OC, DC and ST coach(thus far) ran off but the same guy will be hiring the new coaches that hired the current ones. Does anyone have confidence that he'll do better this time?
  18. My hats off to Pittman and Arkansas. Amazing what he has done there with the mess Morris left behind.
  19. Gus left a roster that isn't close to being good enough to play with top SEC programs. That being said, I've seen nothing from Harsin and this staff recruiting wise that makes me think they are the answer. AU is staring at the 2nd consecutive sub-par recruiting class. The whole "we'll just get em in the portal" answer reminds me of Gus using the JUCO and grad transfer market to cover for a lack of signing top-end HS talent(at needed positions especially). Maybe things pick up in '23 but that looks iffy thus far.
  20. Masons catching a ton of heat and maybe its deserved. But Harsin has a front row seat for whats going on defensively. If hes not happy with the scheme shouldnt it be his responsibility to insist on changes being made?
  21. With whats coming after this year, this may be the best line Davis sees while at Auburn.

He's been a shell of himself since attempting to play after the injury. In his current state I don't think it was a big loss.
