I think theyve done a great job of making it tough to choose. Im thinking 5-7 or 6-6 so that falls right in the middle.

Auburn is getting very little recruiting wise from the HC, the OC and the DC. Assistants can only do so much when recruiting against Smart, Saban, etc. plus those coaches expect coordinators to carry their weight recruiting as well.

Gus’s (lack of) QB development speaks for itself. But to say we currently have at least 3 QBs on the current roster capable of being a successful SEC QB seems very optimistic. We have a true freshman and 3 transfers who were looking at being backups at their previous school. Paired with a pretty weak WR group, the passing game has major questions headed into the season.

Can someone ask Lee why we cant land a decent WR if playing time is the reason we cant land any OL or Edge players? PLENTY of playing time available there and we struck on all the top targets. No shot at you Zeek, appreciate the info you provide.

Harsins biggest problem is talent acquisition counts for probably 75% of a college HCs main job. Other SEC schools realize this and have hired coaches they think are good at it. AU knew the roster had holes due to Gus’s mismanagement and hired a coach that if anything has made it worse. I just dont see how that aspect was brushed aside when hiring Harsin.

Hearing Jeffrey Lee and Pinkston drool over the state of the program you’d never think our win total is set at 5 from the Wynn.

The bigger question is are they SEC talent?

5-7 or 6-6. Our QB and WR positions are bottom end of the conference. Tanks gonna be facing lots of 8 man fronts behind a OLine that struggles to run block. And our roster as a whole just doesnt have the top end talent to beat the better teams on the schedule.

In the past, Auburn pulled top talent from Alabama, Georgia and Florida without having to go outside this region. Theres a reason schools from everywhere try to recruit the southeast, its where more good players are located.

I agree with everything you said regarding Gus. I just dont understand why, knowing the roster issues, Auburn would hire a coach who was an unknown in recruiting. Harsin may or may not get better in this area, but while the program waits it gets further and further behind rival schools who continue stockpiling talent. Which will make it harder for Auburn to compete on the field, this making it even harder to recruit top players here. Ive never seen recruiting in this conference as competitive as it is today and it just seems we totally missed the boat.

Not only did they pay to get rid of Gus, they were completely shut out of the hiring of a coach they didnt want(for good reason it appears). I havnt seen a roster shrivel like this since Terry Bowden was here.

For college football fans its like the NFL draft. Everyones all in on recruiting, UF ran Mullen because they saw the gap with UGA getting greater by the day.

Gotta know his stuff to have that many NFL jobs. I wish he had some recruiting background but hopefully he takes to it like Eason did.

I dont disagree on some of this. But the bigger issue to me is UGA and/or Clemson may well end up with more of these players than AU. And this roster desperately needs an influx of top end talent.

Doubtful. According to 247 the state of Alabama has 8 players in the top 100 nationally. 5 of those are commited elsewhere or dont have Auburn on their list.

Some good players there but do any of them strike you as player opposing coaches fear? I could see King maybe being that guy but the rest just lack big play ability. Definitely the best group on offense as a whole.

Other than Tank there is nobody on this offense who a DC worries about beating him.
