  1. I assumed nothing; I measured the tone of your reply and asked a question based upon that tone. Also, I never said a word about the GA State debacle meaning that the sky is falling, so please do me a favor and don't assume that I'm a part of that group.
  2. How is it noteworthy without the comparison? Malzahn never won such a game, and Harsin won his first. That's not to say that everything is automatically better, but in his only chance to beat a primary rival on their home field during his first season, he succeeded. There are a lot of people who see that as a breath of fresh air, and pointing it out, while exacerbating things for those still holding onto their Gus crush, makes a large portion of the fan base smile.
  3. Bo was the MVP, without a doubt, but he's rightfully received heaps of praise for the best game of his career. This thread was started to single out an underutilized player for a contribution that won't show up as resoundingly on the stat sheet, and thus deserves recognition. He made some critical first down catches on third down, making guys miss, falling forward for the extra yard, hanging in during pass protection. The importance of those things cannot be overemphasized.
  4. Well, I mean, it kinda seems like you're chastising me for enjoying it on the Sunday afterward before NFL action even starts... But again, for the team, absolutely. The only reason they have to look back at LSU is to watch the film and make corrections.
  5. That's a big deal to me. We have the athletes at tight end, and it's been frustrating as hell to get them here and then never see them used. I was so happy for Fromm last night, getting that TD grab!
  6. If he was, then my sincerest apologies for mistaking the intent of the comment. I've just grown so accustomed to Bo bashing that I took it as serious.
  7. Come on now. I can get this mentality for the coaches and players, but we're fans. Can you not give us at least one day to savor our first victory at LSU in this century?
  8. I didn't remember that Dinardo was fired that year...but I feel pretty certain that the Auburn loss was the beginning of the end for him, not just a stop along the way, because it seems like they were favored pretty big. It's also interesting to note that this is only our 6th win in Baton Rouge all time.
  9. Okay, whoa there with the recruiting multiple HS QBs, big guy. The smart way to build a QB room is to take one high schooler every year, giving each class its own leader at QB. We got Dematrius Davis last cycle, and if he were 3 inches taller, every school in America would have been all over him, so we're good there. We've got Holden Geriner, who has been doing nothing but moving up the rankings as time has gone on, committed for this cycle. TJ still has 3 years of eligibility after this season. Why on earth do we need to be pursuing another QB in this class?
  10. But you don't believe he will, is that it?
  11. Still bitter, huh? Gus was our last coach. I'm making a comparison between the two to show a contrast. Malzahn never beat one of our big rivals away from JHS. Harsin did so in his first attempt. Forgive me for thinking that's noteworthy.
  12. I'm...not quite ready to make that assertion. I can get on board with him being the most complete back on the team, though.
  13. But why would you call it stupid? As I said, it caught them flat-footed. Had it been successful, then we would have successfully taken advantage of an opponent's neglect. From another perspective, it's telling the defense that you trust them to pick up the slack if it doesn't work...something they did a pretty good job of.
  14. You realize that we have a new coaching staff this year, right? Bo has been working his ass off since the day he got to Auburn. He just had the misfortune of playing his first two seasons under a high school coach that got a college gig.
  15. I've seen a lot of complaint about that, but if it had worked, everyone would call him a genius. I don't have a problem with it, because LSU was clearly caught flat footed, and we came close to getting that ball back.
  16. No, we don't *know* anything, but the way he was looking to his right for a beat before making the throw indicates to me that Fromm was the intended target. But I agree: if he meant to hit the guy running straight toward the end zone, I wouldn't tell a soul for at least a decade.
  17. Yep. Not sure there were enough that adding receptions there would get him close to 70%, but the receivers definitely have to do better.
  18. Yeah, and he just so happened to hit "another target" in stride. Man, you aren't going to give Bo credit for anything, are you?
  19. That's about the danged truth. I've been amazed with Shaun's speed since the day he came on my radar, and that run against Bama his freshman year that got called back had me champing at the bit to get him in space, because if he gets behind the defense, ain't nobody gonna catch him...and God help any single player who tries to keep him out of the end zone! His running style makes me think of Trey Blackmon's old nickname, The Little Ball of Hate, because he just explodes through people with acceleration.
  20. Malzahn was 0-13 against Alabama, LSU, and Georgia away from Jordan-Hare Stadium. Bryan Harsin is 1-0. Yeah, it's early, but I genuinely believe we are heading in the right direction. Probably going to take a couple of years before we're competing for championships, but this win gives Harsin a bit of a signature to carry him forward, pushing away those who would nag and complain and end up running him off before he's able to implement his system.
  21. Get up? What are you talking about? I've been up 3 hours already...
  22. I was 15 and listening to the game on my portable radio while my dad and I sat out in a field dove hunting. Only time I've ever been dove hunting. I think I had 3 or 4 kills, but I was going crazy over the game. My mom taped it so, so Dad and I watched it the next day. I thought we were going to get embarrassed, which is why I went to the dove shoot in the first place.
