  1. Also, am I not going to get to keep Eli Mitchell? Seems like I remember having him most of the season, even if he wasn't drafted; shouldn't I have the option to keep him?
  2. We certainly deserved the shot. We'd beaten the defending national champs, and we gave Tennessee 2 of their 3 losses that season, once on Rocky Top and once in Atlanta (the other loss was, I believe, given by Notre Dame...but I could be remembering that wrong). Our strength of schedule, as always, was through the roof, despite USC having the designer wins. The GameDay crew being shocked at who had the tougher road between us and the Trojans. Seems like we were at #4, while USC was 27th or so.
  3. That's horrible to hear! I never knew about that...but I guess he wouldn't have wanted the information to get out, anyway.
  4. Isaac was a wing. He never played the point, even in high school because he was playing with Sharife Cooper. Chance is most certainly a point guard--or at least, he can be--and I'm looking forward to seeing what he'll do as an Auburn Tiger. My point was that he can be a game changer immediately, like Okoro was.
  5. I think we would have beaten USC, personally, but it would have been close. Both teams had a pair of first round running backs, as well as a first round quarterback. Ultimately, I give it to that 04 defense of ours, which was superb, as the deciding factor. BTW, seems like I remember something about one of VA Tech's losses being to USC, and how Tech came close to beating them even without a couple of big pieces they had back in place by the time we played them in the bowl game. I don't feel like doing the research to back that up, but I'm pretty sure I'm remembering correctly.
  6. Wow, that's pretty shocking. But okay, fair.
  7. I don't think that's a tweet from the University, brother.
  8. Which means they might even be able to get in for the second minimester (assuming Auburn still does Summer minimesters) and qualify for going to Israel.
  9. We could be scary good come Tournament time next year even without Phillips. Add him, and good grief...
  10. That has Auburn at greater than 50% for 3 centers. I wouldn't think we'd be taking more than 1...I mean, we'll have Broome and Cardwell already...
  11. @ellitor Any idea if Bruce might put Wendell and Chance on the floor at the same time? I would think that could be a dynamic attack...
  12. Big surprise, E has my lineup card...it's going to be difficult to keep Chance off the floor, but Wendell is the classic Pearl PG, so he might do it at least early in the season. Either way, it'll be nice to not have to worry that there's someone on the bench who can take care of the ball if needs be.
  13. Wonder if there's any chance we'd move into the top 5 with a Phillips commit. Probably more like 7th since there are two SEC teams already in the top 5, but preseason polls don't matter all that much in the grand scheme of things.
  14. I'd love for him to put it all together because the team would definitely rally around him. I just have my doubts that he will. Frankly, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Geriner put out there if Calzada gets hurt. Hell, I wouldn't be that surprised if he wins the job outright in preseason practice.
  15. This is how Gus Malzahn broke into college football: Houston Nutt hired him as OC to get his QB and WR at Springdale to come to the University of Arkansas.
  16. Well, to be fair, there are only a couple of guys in the receiver room that even I think have the ability to play their way into being drafted, but I do think this is Malcolm Johnson's year to step up.
  17. He's basing his argument on A-Day? Seriously? If that were the right path, Barrett Trotter would have started for us in 2010... That having been said, Ashford probably should be the backup before Finley.
  18. I haven't been reading many predictions, I just got a notification of that comment because Mikey quoted me. Maybe pessimism is ruling the day, I don't know, but if that's the case then I can't say I like the way things are going in the fan base right now.
  19. Yes, too early to predict a record with any certainty, but you're going to go ahead and predict a crappy record anyway, while there's a notation about not being any certainty so that if we have a good season, you have something to fall back upon. The point is that you're looking at things as negatively as you can, then using semantics to defend the choice. I'm sorry you didn't pick that up the first time around.
  20. Let me try again: You said no offense to him, then you trashed the content that he posted. How is he supposed to take that other than an admonition of what he's posting? And if it is an admonition of what he's posting, should he not infer that you don't think he should post them anymore? Look, I get where you're coming from here, but try to put yourself in fifty's shoes and think about how you would take it if someone said that about your content.
  21. Mikey: It's too early to predict a record, so let me go ahead and predict a crappy record anyway.
  22. Note that I don't believe I've said anything about blitzing. I'm talking about autonomy under a single leader.
  23. What would you call this if not complaining about the quality of the articles? Again, what is fifty supposed to think except that you think it's stupid that he posts the articles that you're shocked anyone gets paid to write?
