  1. So nice to have a cousin work for the university and not care about going to the games. Faculty tickets are only face value, with no donation to Tigers Unlimited required. Seats are always in the end zone, but there really aren't any bad seats in the house in Jordan-Hare.
  2. Well, I'm guessing that you're right in that the bullpen is on fumes, but I'm just saying that I don't know anything about the rapport that pitcher might have with his coaches.
  3. The Vandy-OSU game is on SEC Network for anyone who wants to watch.
  4. Well, it wasn't like the pitcher looked completely lost. He walked the first batter after running the count full, then got two quick outs before a single. He let one get away from him and hit the next guy to load the bases, but he had two strikes on the guy who drilled the single to center an knocked home two...
  5. Yeah, I guess it might have helped to look at the location. But it's not about learning to use the computer. It's about learning to pay attention, something I've never been particularly good at. (Unlike my daughter, who is a carbon copy of my mom in that she notices EVERYTHING.)
  6. If you live up that way and OSU maintains this lead over Vandy, then I implore you to. If Vandy comes back, my dad and I might have to leave my daughter with her Grammy next weekend. Be pretty cool to be at the first Super Regional played in Auburn.
  7. I think they need to do more stuff like this. Focusing on the idea of the 4th and 1 mentality Harsin is trying to instill in the guys and splicing in Hars' words about it was a nice touch.
  8. Whenever Spurrier was the opposing coach and we did well and the camera goes to him, my dad would inevitably say, "Throw your visor, Steve! Throw your visor!"
  9. Yeah, that was Nix to Sanders Part II. That game was in 94 when we were #4 and Florida was #1. First time Spurrier lost at home to an SEC team.
  10. I remember seeing it on TV at my sister's place in Montgomery, I just got mixed up about where it was played.
  11. Really? I could have sworn that happened at Florida. Hmm, interesting. Thanks for clearing it up, though!
  12. That's a fair point, because Jimbo is a legit QB coach. I'm just hoping that a different perspective is going to make a world of difference, more similar to basketball with Walker Kessler learning what he did at UNC before coming here and putting it all together in Bruce's system, if that makes any sense. Time will tell, I suppose.
  13. I would rather Zep be out there as the 2, because he's great in that role. He's a good-not-great 3 point shooter, perfect as a secondary ball handler, and a pest to opposing offenses. I could see the argument for him even starting at the 2 over KD...but I really think we're better offensively with someone else running point. Frankly, the more I think about it, the more I want to see Chance at point...but whatever the case, it's exciting for Bruce to have so many different guys to run the offense through.
  14. I'm counting on Harsin working with Calzada on his footwork, which should make a big difference with those throws. He's got the arm to make every throw in the book once he gets the mechanics right.
  15. I think this is a fair synopsis. I do, however, think Calzada fits Harsin's system better than Bo did.
  16. Pretty sure WDE gets his information from quite a few different sources around the program, not only one or two, just for the record.
  17. I don't remember Heron being much of a gamechanger, but the point is well taken. All of those guys were in the top 40 players in their recruiting class, so it makes sense that they'd be the instant difference makers. And yeah, both of those lineups have their matchup problems...but I think you're underselling Green as a playmaker, and overselling Jasper. The offense seemed pretty slow with Zep running things; he can handle the ball, but he's not the most creative table setter on the team. There's a reason the analytics were so high on Wendell, and I think he earned the starting spot at point, personally. At least, to begin the season, anyway. Chance might take the spot away, though. I've gotten higher on him than anyone we've brought in other than Jabari, because I think he's going to be really, really good. There aren't many 6'6 guys with the kind of dribble/drive/pass skills that he has, and I think he should be considered the centerpiece of this recruiting class, regardless of the fact that Traore is rated higher, and this would have been true even if Phillips had chosen Auburn. So I don't know how Bruce is going to end up putting things together. But regardless, I think we've got a team that's talented enough and balanced enough to be formidable come tournament time.
  18. Seriously though, how is this for splitting the minutes? PG - Green 28, Westry 12 SG - KD 25, Zep 15 SF - Flanigan 28, Westry 12 PF - Jaylin 20, Traore 20 C - Broome 25, Cardwell 15 A few of the PG minutes could go to Zep if needs be, and Bruce could run Wendell, KD, and Jasper at the same time and have a small lineup in there, but this is a reasonable distribution of minutes without adding anyone to the roster and still leaving the redshirt on Donaldson and not expecting too much out of Chris coming off his injury.
  19. It's hard to get a sharp-shooting wing interested in competing with what we've already got on the roster for minutes. If Flanigan has gotten his head right then we've got all the pieces we need to make a legit run, IMO. Either Tre steps up early as the tenth man and gives us a few minutes a game, Chris Moore gives some minutes at the 3, or Bruce only plays 9 men in rotation this season. I suspect it will be one of the first two options, however. But no, if Flanigan can get back to being the guy he was two seasons ago, just while playing a supporting role instead of the lead, then he provides all the threat we need from the starting SF. He shot a respectable percentage from 3 that season, even if he was pretty bad last year.
  20. When he was at Boise, he was a favored son who had worked his way up the ranks mostly at Boise, so he didn't have to sell himself quite the same way as he has had to here at Auburn. I think that probably had as much to do with the adjustment period as anything did.
  21. It's not a done deal by any means, but if it's not him, it's far more likely to be Ashford or Geriner than Finley, according to my intel.
  22. The writer lost me right here. I question if he/she has any clue.
  23. The only way TJ gets a sniff of the starter role is if he makes some serious strides during summer camp and preseason practice. Right now, he's running #4. Calzada is the frontrunner, and then Geriner and Ashford are battling hard for the backup role. I'm told that Ashford will have a package, regardless of whether he starts, to take advantage of his athleticism in short yardage/goal line situations. What I've been able to piece together makes it seem like if the pecking order remains the same until the season, Calzada starts, and if he gets injured in a game, Ashford would be the guy to go in for him, but if Calzada was going to be out for more than a week or two after that then Geriner would be the one who got the reins. (In other words, Geriner is running slightly ahead of Ashford, but they really want to preserve his redshirt if they can help it.)
  24. I wouldn't say we're a top 10 program, but I can see a pretty strong argument for top 15. We're still 13th on the all time wins list, we won a national championship eleven seasons ago and played for another within the last decade, plus another undefeated season since the turn of the century.
