Maybe a big NIL package especially for interior offensive linemen to sweeten the pot in recruiting near-term. It's a risk, but start promoting that squad more. It's a risk because it sounds silly to start promoting something that is currently lower tier. IF we have any state of the art training and conditioning facilities/staff/processes focused on offensive linemen, then get these on a front page. Wouldn't hurt to bring in a marquee NFL OL coach for a few years the calibre of Dante Scarnecchia, Jim Hanifan, Joe Bugel, or Bobb McKittrick - a gray beard savant who's worked with the best, has nothing left to prove, and ready to pass back through college for 2 or 3 years on his way to retirement. Show (in marketing and on the recruiting trail) a squad loading for bear, having fun, and realistically getting ready for the league. Right now they're the common excuse and whipping boy for very offensive offense. Create the image and you hope it starts creating reality. Just an idea.

This is definitely some #NewSchool thinking that would get kids attention.  Much like our current social media team's stuff seen on Twitter and Instagram.  Every little bit helps.  The NFL OL coach much like our new OC would be a solid selling point for prospective players.

Watching AU football the last couple of years there is a disturbing trend. I’m seeing more and more plays where we run the ball and an o-lineman doesn’t engage or hit anyone. No one. It happened again yesterday on a 3d and short. A guard (who shall remain nameless but might wear #65) waddled his 320 pound self out of the play gingerly skating by no less than 2 defenders with only gentle love taps with an outstretched hand. Pathetic.  How does that happen, and if I as an average fan can see it why can’t our coaches? And if they do see it, why does that player ever see the field again? We need some big nasties up front who seek and enjoy contact.

I didn't catch that particular play but I've seen quite a few times this year and last year where the RB was fighting for yards, while the whistle hasn't blown as multiple OL's stand by watching other defenders pile own our RB.  They're just standing there watching.  It was sad.

The reality is that Auburn isn't a good place to be a quarterback right now. It wasn't good for Bo. It isn't good for TJ, and until we can get some more help on the OL, and better identify some playmakers at WR, it's not going to be a good situation for the next guy.

This is our reality at the moment and we all know what its going to take to fix it.  The unknown part is where does Dee Davis fit in?  Is he waiting to be processed or is he relegated to long range project?  No one knows at this point.

  4. SEC has looked inept so far.  I know I know, the portal and all that but everyone is dealing with that.  Unfortunately it looks like it's Bammer then everyone else.  I know UGA is looking much improved thanks to Kirb's "recruiting prowess" (wink wink) but as everyone saw in the SECCG they're not Bama yet.

Do everything you can to bring in the most game ready transfer QB. Obviously work on the OL too, but that's a harder fix requiring multiple players. Find a QB that can cover up other deficiencies.

This! ...and find just one WR that's a playmaker with elite speed to go with him.  We don't have any offensive players that the other team really has to scheme for.

    Our 4 wideouts who caught a pass today combined for 9 catches for 105 yards.   Houston's WR1, #1, had 10 catches for 150.    We need a WR1.

Yep, and my guy Hudson dropped back to back passes in crunch time.  We need a couple of playmakers at WR badly.  It would also be nice to have a RB break an arm tackle once in a while too.

Remember when we had a coaching staff that didn't deem Malik Willis good enough?  Ya know, the future NFL QB and likely first rounder?

Yeah, I'd like to see what Davis can do before we declare he's "not good".

I’m just spit ballin’ here but I’m going to assume that Mr. Davis is a much better runner than he is a thrower and is going to be much more suited to run a Hugh Freeze style offense where he opens up the deep pass by RPOing halfway down the field.  I’m just not sure Harsin is going to install that type of offense around one player.

His ball looks like it floats. Drops 3 feet on a 10 yard pass. Just don't see the arm strength on him

This sounds like his best attribute is his legs and not his arm.  If this is accurate I have my doubts he ever starts under Harsin.

  9. I felt Harsin called a good game but the players just didn’t execute enough.  We had OL with little push, TE’s missing blocks on pass pro, wildly inaccurate QB deep and short and when he was on the money the WR drops two in a row.  The plays were there all day.

  10. One thing is for sure Bo Nix will go down as one of the more polarizing figures in Auburn history.  Thrust into the spotlight way too early and saddled with perhaps too high of expectations as a 5* legacy recruit.  I'll always appreciate the effort he gave, much like all the other players giving the same exact type of effort that are still here on the team.

  11. As is, right now 5 - 7.  If we pick up an experienced QB and 2 - 3 experienced OL's and an experienced WR I can see 7 - 5.  I really wanted to see DD in action in the bowl game to see if we actually have a legit SEC starting QB on roster right now and see who sticks around an extra year before making a prediction but we'll see soon enough.
