The information I pulled up we have 2 other SEC teams ahead of us as far as total number of players to hit the portal. Not good when we lose players we want to keep but really believe it is a sign of the times.

I guess it is a sign of the times.  Many of the ones hitting the portal had committed to the last coaching staff and in the past they would’ve just had to make the best of it with The new coaching staff.  Not now thanks to the portal.  I am assuming it’s that easy to transfer.

HS o line 2022 commits/signees in the SEC West+ UGA

    OM-7

    UGA-5

    TAMU/MsSt/LSU/Arky-4 each

    Bama-3

    AU-1

And this is after we signed 2 last year. Most of the schools listed above signed 3-5. CBH better get his giddy up on real quick.

This has me worried more about the '23 season more than '22.  We'll be in seriously deep doo doo after losing 7 Sr's off the OL.

Just surprising considering he played a lot in bowl game and with us losing 2 LBs to nfl.

Unless he sees us going after other transfer LBs like the guy transferring from NC?

It's just super odd to me that these guys would rather give up on this team and start over in an unknown situation somewhere else, have to compete for PT while having to learn an entirely new system without any guarantees.  Seems counter productive to me.  Smh.

I think our WR room will be improved, even without adding a transfer.  There was nothing that I saw out of the guys still here that showed me that they could not improve on last season.  Same goes for the offensive line.

This is what I'm hoping to see.  I'm thinking some of the WR's on roster didn't see any or much action because they were still struggling with the playbook or the reading defenses the staff requires them to do, NOT because they were less talented.  Hopefully, they'll know what they're supposed to be doing after a year in the system.

Don’t know what Hunters motives are but some kids expect immediate playing time, and if they don’t earn it they are ready to bolt.  Doesn’t matter who the coach is or the culture in the program.  It’s a me first generation.

I hope the hell we don’t keep losing this kind of talent.  I also hope he doesn’t end up with former DL coach Eason that’s now at Clemson or UCF.  I’m not sure who would have recruited him.

  6. No sense crying over spilled milk.  But we better start landing some stud recruits asap because our schedule is getting tougher by the day with having to play The Turd, ATM, LSU and UGA every stinking year.  All  of them always loaded with NFL talent.  Until then we gotta start winning games by scheming well and making good in-game decision’s.

Any of our resident QB whisperers want to critique what they’re seeing in this video?  Are we seeing proper technique or simply back yard slinging?  The video is so small I can’t tell how far those passes are.

Just look at the Calzada commitment thread.  I never thought I would ever see that many people complaining about someone's commitment to Auburn.

Exactly.  It’s not hard to find on this board or Twitter.  Some folks need to dial back the overly critical commentary about our players and coaches.  The public belittling, insulting and minimizing them doesn’t help sell this program to future recruits and their parents.

It appears that Casey Thompson has us pretty high as well. We may not land Williams, but if we land Thompson, a battle for QB1 between Thompson, Calzada, TJ and DD is a good thing.

Welcome to the Plains, Zach Calzada!

I like this scenario a lot.

It ain’t dirty once it is sanctioned. I tip my hat to TAMU for being out front with what sounds like a very organized plan and approach to NIL. I hope AU is on a similar path.

Agree.  They’re definitely working it like a boss right now.  It’s almost as if they already knew how all this worked before NIL. 😉

It’s happening in Austin and LA as well. Get ready…..the days of dodge chargers and Chevy Tahoes with cash in the glove compartment from Pensacola are over. It’s much bigger now. Bammer will have to work harder now.

The heat has now officially been turned wide open on Jimbo’s ass.  He better have one loss or less for the next 3-4 years because they’re just as loaded as bama and uga.

    Thanks for posting.

I don't know how much credibility "SliceBread" or BroBible should be extended.  Even if the low number is to be believed, that equates to nearly $300,000 for every scholarship player.  From the way this reads, the eyepopping number was for the signing class alone?  If so, they forked over roughly $1 Million per.  Not completely out of the question, since they have the deepest pockets in the SEC based on endowment totals.  Not sure I buy it though....

The story says the deals are multi year structured so maybe divide those numbers up over 3-4 years.  Regardless it’s here in black and white, buying players out in the open.  I guess bama isn’t the dirtiest institution any more.
