I'm not sure I've ever seen an ESPN College GameDay that was so quiet. #TheGrove

War Eagle!
I’m hoping we jump on them early, get the crowd into it and take care of biz like we’re capable of. It would be nice to see what they look like when all facets are working for once.

It was mentioned in the OP, "if Bo leaves" ...... i'm curious to know where '50 thinks Bo would go?
Good question. Return for SR year maybe? I mean other than quit playing football I’m not sure where else he’d be.

I'm surprised Ga is at only 48, but its possible that Smart's recruiting is just now taking off and getting players to the pros.
We SHOULD be in the range of GA's or FLa's, but as you can see we are at least 15 players behind. And it's only going to go down I think for the next couple years bc of what Gus left Harsin.
Harsin can build that up with development to some degree, but he HAS to start getting top 10-15 recruiting classes starting with 2023 to maintain or elevate our team with elite players who go on to play in the NFL.
Adding TX and OK to the mix won't make it any easier on Auburn. When do they join?

As far as NFL talent, according to Ourlads.com current active SEC players in the NFL are as follows...
1. UA- 71
2. LSU- 58
3. UGA and UF- 48
4. A&M- 35
5. USC- 34
6. Auburn- 31
7. UT- 30
8. MSU- 28
9. Mizzou- 24
10. Ole Miss- 23
11. Ark- 22
12. UK- 20
13. Vandy- 18
Also, when those other two join the SEC...
Texas- 36
Oklahoma- 41
We would be pushed down to the middle of the league.

I don't think we're that far off in certain spots. It's just that there's a lack of quality depth and a lack of play makers on the team. If we had just one playmaker at WR this offense would be a lot more effective just by adding one guy.
-
I'm hoping the team has mentally put the A&M game behind them and have come up with a really good plan for the MSU defense. Fwiw, since our 2-0 start against Akron and Ala State... Bo only has 4 TD's and 3 Int's. I'm hoping he can at least run the offense up and down the field to give our defense some help.

It’s possible. Suits/admin are really dumb when it comes to social media. They think it’s really indicative of how a fan base feels. They see some angry tweets and then panic. Happens in every industry. It’s pretty pathetic.
Yup, a semi-coordinated Twitter attack by a small but extremely “loud” group of folks can make management/stock holders very nervous.

Well they just fired Grantham and their Oline coach.
Wow. I don't recall another CFB season when there were so many coaches getting fired in the middle of a season like 2021. Is it due to the hyper toxic social medias like twitter? It seems extra salty this year.

This won't help cousin Eddie's hiney to get less warm. Weren't they preseason favored to win the east division? Expectations will get you every time.

It seems like Zakoby was pissed at some A&M players. Anyone know what happened? It seemed to be about something personal, not just a loss.
I thought that after Z tackled their RB the A&M player got up running his mouth.. at least that's's how it looked on TV to me.

The concern to me isn't the loss on the field, it is the loss off the field. A&M got commitments yesterday from the #1 and #109 players in ESPN's top 300. Saban, Smart, and Fisher have all been recruiting in the top 10 since they arrived. Right now we are ranked 34 and about 10th in the SEC.
Maybe this staff is the type that can develop a 3 star into a 5 star plyer but the reason we looked so inept against Georgia and A&M is because there is an enormous talent gap. If we plan to compete at the top of the SEC we have to be able to recruit at the top and right now, for me at least, it is a major concern.
This is a valid concern. I like the culture change he's installing and it takes time but if anything is going to cut his time at Auburn short it's going to be the recruiting aspect of competing in the SEC. He's going to have to get that ratcheted up asap or all the new direction stuff will end up being all for naught.

there was absolutely no excuse for those two fumbles and he should have sat him down after that..
I can't lie, I was right there too after I stopped cussing and seeing red. I knew he had lost it mentally at that point.

Sometimes... I wish they would play TJ for an entire SEC game just so everyone could see exactly what we have in him and possibly shut up one side or the other about this never ending subject.

Is he also going to whine about all of his team’s obvious offensive holding and defensive facemask penalties that weren’t called by the officials either? I’m guessing that’ll be a big no. STHU Jimbo.

Has anyone else noticed our Carlson seems to be broken? I’m not saying it cost us the game or anything but I’m just not use to seeing them miss this many in a season.

I agree; it feels like the last couple seasons all over again. The D plays more than good enough to win, the O just can’t get it done. Very frustrating, I just don’t get it.
I guess, it just comes down to a average to slightly below average O line and as CBS announcers were saying, our receivers can be good but they are simply not home run, game breakers.
Bo is our best option at the current time but he is no Johnny Manziel!
Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss are down to back up, walk-on, wide receivers and they look better than ours. Other national powers have two or three second string O Linemen in the game because of injuries etc. and they look better than our starting O line. Texas A&M playing their back up QB, he looks better than our starting QB. I just don’t get it.
The offense is beyond frustrating for me also. The TE’s are the most consistent thing on offense.

Bo had a tough game but the entire offense got owned out there today. Disappointing all around. Defense did their job so kudos to them.
