This seems silly to me. I know it doesn’t happen often, opportunity to leave Bama and go to AU, but you actually think he might jeopardize his career in order to somehow hold back AU?

Simma Down Now! I'm an old head so this is an abomination to me but the world is changing. I am still against it though! I wouldn't want any Auburn players going to buma.

Apparently whatever we aren't seeing, the staff at Oregon didn't see it either. Two full seasons there and he never took a single snap at QB. Ashford has been an above average band aid for this past season but we'll need to move on from having a band aid at QB.

He was a true Freshman at Oregon!!! If we are going go by your reasoning, why didn't we see Geriner play since Robby and TJ were so bad??? Geriner should have seen the field more according to your asinine reasoning. Geriner wasn't ready just like Robby wasn't ready at Oregon. Besides, as an older man, you should know that everyone doesn't mature at the same rate.

I seem to remember Jason Campbell coming into his own during his Senior year. He would not have been good enough for you his first three seasons. He got competent coaching that last year and should have won a national championship.

I don't think Ashford will play a single down at QB for AU next year.  He's a RB trying to play QB.

He could be a fine QB at a lower level, but not in the SEC.  We need to get our starting QB for next year thru the portal, which is what Freeze is trying to do.

I really don't think you know what Auburn has in Robby. Again, with coaching and a good Oline, he is going to be a terror in the SEC.

Najee and Etienne both went first round in 2021, Edwards-Helaire in 2020, Jacobs in 2019 (as a back up)

The right back with the right resume can get 1st round money.  Leaving as a 4th round draft pick is far from a sure-fire NFL career.  The prevailing logic is "he's put enough on film."  But, has he?  He's shown good burst and decent hands but he hasn't shown he can consistently be the back he was as a freshman.  I know 100% for a fact that Cadillac is campaigning for him to come back.  Again, he has backs to share the load with and is going to be in a much better offense to put up gawdy numbers.  If it were a slam dunk he were gone, he would've announced already.  A 4th round grade and a few hundred K isn't enough to move the needle on bailing to me.

So you want Tank to come back to put another year of wear and tear on his body? The average lifespan of a running back is 3.5 years in the NFL. He will be eligible for the NFL pension after 3 years. The sooner he gets to the NFL the better. You are only thinking about now; not 20 years from now when his career is over. He needs to start contributing to the NFL pension plan as soon as he can to ensure he continues to get money monthly long after his career is over.

  5. We appreciate everything that Tank has done for Auburn but it is time for him to go get paid in the NFL. NFL careers are short and he doesn't need another year of wear and tear at Auburn.

  6. I know we live in a different, more politically correct society where feelings are taken into consideration, but I sure do miss this. I looked forward to this every year. You'll notice who he is yelling at. Big #5. Brumbaugh never seemed mean enough for me. I wish him the best though.
