Son of former NBA great inks with Tigers

, the son of one of the NBA’s best dunkers of all time, Shawn Kemp, was one of five players to sign with Auburn’s men’s basketball team this morning.

Kemp Jr. chose Alabama last year over offers from Kentucky, Florida and Indiana but failed to qualify.  He’s currently enrolled at Hargrave Academy in Virginia. 

A Canton, Miss. native, Kemp, at 6-foot-9, 235 pounds, averaged 12 points, eight rebounds and compiled 78 blocks as a senior.

The Tigers are also expected to sign Jale Steele (Knoxville, TN), guard Anthony Salter (Iowa Western Community College), forward Adrian Forbes (Trinity Valley Community College in Texas) and forward  Heath Houston (Powder Springs, GA).
